Lorell Tempered Glass Chairmat with Lip 36 x 48 Clear 1 Each

I have been using this glass chair mat for over a year now and I have been very surprised at how nice it has been. I was forced to work full time at home 14 months ago, and this mat has been my favorite part of my work at home office setup. I've used it for 8-10 hours a day and it looks as good as it did when I first bought it. I use it in a basement office area that has thick berber carpeting on padding. I did not want to use the chair on the carpet because it would dent it and wear down the padding. I did not want a plastic mat either. I've used a couple of plastic mats in the past and found them to still dent and crush over time and still damage the carpet underneath. I found this Lorell Tempered Glass item and decided to take a chance on it and I am glad I did! My chair now rolls effortlessly across and it really looks high quality in my office area. So far it has held up exceptionally well. If I had to find anything to complain about with it, is that it slides a few inches every couple of weeks and then I have to push it back into place. Not a big deal at all. I do take great care not to drop anything on it , or make sure I don't roll over anything. I would not be surprised if someone dropped something hard and pointed or rolled over a pebble that it could shatter -- it is glass after all. Even if it were to break tomorrow I would order another one in a heartbeat and still sing the praises of it. I'm not sure why I like it as much as I do, but I really do think it's great. If your carpet makes it difficult for chair to roll, this is the mat you want. It’s heavy, difficult to take upstairs, but once down it is perfect. Had for about a year now, no scratches or cracks, solid as a rock. Big enough for you to move around your desk, get to printer. I like the rounded which fits under desk as I like to be close to keyboard and monitor. Read more

Edit: 1 year update: Still works fine with no issues. I have either poor prepared foundation or poorly installed LVP. Because the floor was flexing, it was being damaged even through normal office mat and with rollerblade "floor safe" wheels. This Glass mat resolved all of that. Now I can glide around and no longer damage my floors! It is so smooth my kids call it the "ice floor". Make sure you use the included rubber feet on a hard floor. Any kind of debris under the mat makes sickly crunching noise and the rubber feet really help with this. Read more
