This is the perfect size for a roomy tote. I added a purse insert that I am able to move from bag to bag. This allows the tote to stand upright by my desk at work or by my cozy chair at home.The handles are comfortable and the zipper on the top is excellent. I like that I am able to close the bag when it's pouring rain and I'm in and out of places. The outside pocket is deep and the front of this is a zippered compartment suitable for multiple uses. In addition the smaller bag functions for me like a small purse. It's large enough to hold my wallet and phone and has a wrist band. All in all quality, style and durability are solid. Five stars! Perfect bag! The material is soft and easy to clean. There is enough room for my 14" MacBook Pro in a padded sleeve, books, notepads, multiple drinks, all my personal stuff, lunch, a sweater and still room for more. On lighter days it lays flat and isn't puffy/cumbersome. The shoulder strap length is comfortable and it has a little padding so when the bag is loaded down, it doesn't hurt my shoulder. I thought there may be too many little pockets, but it feels like the perfect number and a nice balance of easy access pockets and zippered/secure pockets. I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality because the price is so low...I was pleasantly surprised! The stitching is lovely and the bag is put together well. I have been on the hunt for a new bag that possessed all these qualities: Could accommodate my large laptop, had a trolley sleeve, had an external water bottle pocket, and was not a backpack. This proved a difficult combination to find, especially in the laptop department. I'm very happy with the purchase of this bag - I just took it on its first trip, and it suited my needs perfectly. A breakdown of some specifics: -The suitcase it sits atop in the photos is my Rick Steves Spinner Carry-On, which measures ~21" tall with wheels (for scale) -The water bottle shown in the side pocket is a 36oz Stanley IceFlow; there was still room to spare in the end pocket, and there is another pocket of the same size on the opposite end. I appreciate that these pockets have a cinching drawstring to hold the bottle more snugly, since there is extra room. -The laptop compartment was the most important feature - I have a 17.3" Thinkpad, and SO many travel bags have laptop sleeves that are too small for this size laptop. My laptop fit comfortably, and there is an adjacent sleeve that I used to hold a notebook and Kindle. These are lightly padded, and it felt like enough for me. -The trolley strap does the job. I was initially worried about how thin it was, but I did not have any real issues. Since this bag is larger than my rolling suitcase in width, and I had it loaded with a heavy laptop, it tended to want to ebb forward ever so slightly. Not enough to tip the roller, but I did feel more secure having the bag's straps also sitting over the roller handle. -Everything I packed inside it: my laptop, a notebook, a Kindle Paperwhite, a tech case with a mouse & laptop cord, a phone charger, headphones, my fanny-pack sized crossbody purse, a glasses case, a quart-sized bag with liquid toiletries, and a water bottle. Overall, very pleased with this bag! The fabric feels substantial (not thin, and didn't feel like it was straining under the weight of the load it carried) and I liked how many pockets it has for organization.
