I was researching for a few ambient light options for my living room. The one at Walmart was about $25 but felt really plasticky. This one is much better quality with nice metal feel and some weight to it, so that I don’t have to worry about it being unstable or falling over easily. Definitely the winner in both look and feel. It does an awesome good job of creating a nice decorative ambient light. In the colored modes, and with the lighted side facing the wall (like it's intended) it's about as bright as a night light, but it throws the light around a bedroom or small living room pretty good if most of the walls are bare and white. In the white mode, it's a bit brighter but wouldn't be a great reading lamp. It's amazing how much control it gives over the light colors and patterns, especially if you use the app. Some are saying that the music feature only works with the songs that it comes with, but you can make it sound sensitive to any sounds, not just music played through the app. The only downside is that it's cheaply made, and not very stable. It's all plastic. It wobbles easily in its base, and the sections can come apart if you're not careful picking it up. But if you're gentle with it, it may last a long time. Anyway, for $30, it's hard to complain too much about its quality. But that's why only 5 stars. Read more

It’s a cool light but it does not allow to change the warmth of the white light which was the most important part for me. All the colors are fun and cool, and it looks good even though it’s made of plastic…but if I want a simple warm white light along with my other lamps, it doesn’t allow for that. I had to return it, but adjusting the warmth or at least an easy setting for a warm white would have made this usable for me. Read more
