Great price on what promises to be a sturdy traditional keyboard

Abraham BJanuary 8, 2020

I just got this keyboard and am testing it out eagerly after a month using a cheap, annoying replacement BT keyboard after my Logitech BT keyboard (K811) finally died. I wasn’t going to spend $100 to replace a keyboard that lasted only about three years. So I thought I’d give this “LumsBurry” a try. I want to get out of the way what I, so far, don’t like about this keyboard: the return key is too far to the right of the standard typing keys. You REALLY have to stretch your pinky to hit the return key because, besides the keys on this keyboard being a bit larger than what you might be accustomed to, there's an additional key between the quotes key and the return key (backward slash, vertical slash key). I use mostly Mac OS at home, though I also have to use a Windows PC (Parallels won't work with some of our programs...). I began the keyboard in Mac OS X. The OS prompted me to do a basic keyboard confirmation (shift keys placement...) and in seconds the keyboard was confirmed. I began writing this review on a Mac then switched to a PC, unplugging the keyboard from the Mac (USB hub) and plugging it directly into a Windows laptop (direct USB). Windows 10 popped up a message that it was connecting a keyboard but there was no interruption to my being able to use the keyboard. I disconnected it from the PC, reconnected it to the Mac and was able seamlessly to continue working on the Mac. Excellent--true plug-N-play. Can't do that with BT keyboards. No productivity loss with mechanical plug-play keyboard. One important difference between Windows/Mac: to use the keyboard shortcut for cut-paste, you use the "WIN" key on this mechanical keyboard instead of the "control" key on the Mac native keyboard. Luckily, the two keys are in the same relative position so you don't make any/many mistakes. I'm pleasantly surprised that some function keys work even in Mac OS X—most notably the music control keys—pause, stop, next/last track, volume up/down, mute. Maybe I can learn a way to assign other keyboard shortcuts to other function keys. I also like that the keys are the old-fashioned mechanical type. They have a very satisfying return click feel. No wimpy membrane squishes here. This is a serious work keyboard--which means my typing speed is faster and I'm more productive. Everything just works. Also, the light function is extremely simple—one click of the clearly labeled light key to turn on and another to disable. Don’t know what effect using the under-keyboard light will have on computer battery or power. But this is a massive improvement over BT keyboards’ counter-intuitive backlighting solutions. I'd have preferred a muted white/yellow light, but I'm glad there's a backlight so I can work in dim/dark spaces. I didn’t expect the keyboard to be as large as it is: 14.5” x 6.5”. Should have paid more attention to the stated dimensions. But after YEARS of delicate, disposable BT keyboards, I welcome a keyboard that’s sturdy and that’ll last, hopefully, for many years. Best parts to me are: (1) No BT log-out after just a few seconds away from the keyboard so that when I try to continue working I get nothing or errors due to delayed activation while I’m typing. & (2) No waiting for the keyboard to wake after I’ve been away from my computer. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to BT keyboards. For the price, this keyboard is unbeatable. I’ll update my review if anything changes. Read more

Excellent Keyboard PERIOD.. VERY solid key pop back and response. NICE LED features!!!

Jernjr1981October 13, 2025

VERY NICE! The keys are as precise as any keyboard I have ever used. They have perfect pop=back and response rate. The size is great, I love the smaller more compact board, and its it very nice it keeps the LED features. I would say not just for the price, but this is a solid keyboard for gaming or office use whatever it may be. SIDE NOT GREAT for people with smaller hands. PERFECT fit for consoles! Read more

Not bad for the price

SteveOctober 25, 2025

The lights are either on or off which is kind of a bummer (was hoping for the ability to dim the backlight or change the color but that doesn’t appear to be an option) but it’s not overly bright so I can live with it. There is another mode where the lights will “breathe” or fade in and out constantly, but that’s it for light control. The keyboard itself is nice. Extremely quiet to type on. It is not uncomfortable to type on. Overall, for the price I paid I’m good with it. Read more

You need this for your old eyes

JB KidSeptember 3, 2025

This keyboard is functional. I need my keyboard to light up. I cannot stand using one that does not. I'm getting older and it seems my eyes are starting to dim so this item is awesome. It is durable because I have been using it daily for work and have experienced no issues. The keys all work and respond great. It's comfortable because it is smaller. It does not have the number pad, which I don't like because I am left-handed and not an accountant. The look of it is okay. I do not mind the rainbow color although a solid color scheme option would be nice. Read more

Stellar and stylish keyboard for tight spaces

Sammy J.April 12, 2025

My kids love these keyboards! I definitely spoil them, and these have a definite spoiled-worthy feel to them. They're tactile and fairly quiet; but, why they are totally our solution is where we only have a 4-foot desk for two kids! Any full-size keyboards were just too cramped in the same space. At the same time, these have none of the downsides of the really small keyboards (like a 60%). They haven't complained a bit, and I'd be more than happy to use them myself. Read more

Looks like a gaming laptop keyboard, But it's still a cheap keyboard

RokuOctober 26, 2021

Based on looks, this keyboard is nice; has RGB, looks compact, and has all the shortcut buttons one might need for gaming. It's actually every quiet to type on, but it also feels pretty cheap to type on, as one would expect from a sub 15 dollar "gaming" keyboard. It gets the job done, looks cool, but it won't give you that key feedback you would get from a true gaming keyboard. So keep that in mind and don't expect anything special. Read more

Had it for almost a year

JessiJuly 15, 2024

I got it for a temp keyboard while I fixed my wireless one... But... It's fine. The size is perfect, the clickiness subtle yet still satisfying, and it works fine for fps gaming... Ok, I'll admit it, valorant. It works fine for valorant gaming. It's become my main one even though the asdw have worn off. Particularly the w. Ok, I'm a bad valorant player but that's not really the point. Rather you want it for a temp or permanent keyboard it's pretty nice for the price. Read more
