Lunderg Raised Toilet Seat with Handles - Round Standard - Easy to Install Toilet Seat Risers for Seniors

Purchased this product to install on a standard height toilet as a replacement to the other type of seat that are basically a ring that you secure to the toilet. First off, if you are considering purchasing a medical type raised toilet seat for long term use that does not allow itself to be raised for cleaning DON'T DO IT!!! I'm talking about the type that is just a 3" thick plastic ring that bolts to toilet, where you have to unscrew the bolts to clean. From experience, those are incredibly inconvenient and difficult to keep clean, requiring full removal which will keep it from getting done regularly and thoroughly. Also, since most are hollow they can easily crack allowing for moisture and other things to accumulate inside. Total Horror Show if not maintained regularly. This product was the ideal replacement because it's designed like a standard toilet seat, where both the seat and cover raise independently. It's easy to install, and the is very secure once in place. The handles are spaced wide enough apart so you can sit and maneuver comfortably and are very stable when bearing weight. You can choose to install both, one or no handles. The unit comes with spacers to fill the holes if you decide to do without the handles, so it provide a finished look. Aesthetically the seat looks much better than the previous solution and is way more functional. Without the handles it appears almost like a standard seat. And most important, its much easier to keep clean. I would highly recommend this product over the other type of raised seat. It's more expensive but in the long run it is totally worth it. This has been a game changer for post-op from knee surgery! The removable handles are so easy and is the reason it could fit in our tiolet area which is very small space, so we just use 1 side. Really easy to put on the tiolet, very very sturdy, love the soft close, no slamming lids during the night. I got the 3”’ if I’d gotten the 5” we couldn’t touch the floor lol highly recommended this and it looks great too , when the handles are no longer needed it will remain as our tiolet seat it’s that nice ! This was so easy to install and believe me, I’m not a handy person. I bought this for my daughter who had major hip surgery and is 5’7” so she needed a taller commode and support getting up and down. This is a very well designed and made item. It fits securely on the toilet and is very solid when changing position. The (removable) handles are also solidly attached and do not move with use. The instructions were illustrated with pictures and stated everything that was needed to assemble it. These are some of the best instructions I have ever seen for a product. Purchased for elderly mother with Dementia. The ease of installation was simple and it's a perfect seamless fit. The mounting points are solid and secure. The handles are also very secure allowing the patient to easily lift and push off/on the elevated seat. The handles are easily removed if needed as well as the seat itself for cleaning with just the push off a button. The elevated seat height enables the elderly patient a better lift position. Slow close lid which is pretty seamless on the contours of the bowl so it doesn't look out of place. Yes, it's expensive compared to the cheaper variations offered, but what you get is something that looks much better, better functional uses and lifts points allow better position for the patient. The integrated arms are strong and solid that can support the weight while pushing up or the weight while trying to sit down. The seat offers the elderly a more secure balanced way of doing their business. Balance for an elderly user is very important and the ability to lift themselves off the seat using their weakened leg & core strength, with assistance of their arms on the strong seat handles is a bonus for any user or care taker that is assisting. I had surgery on my knee in June 2025. I moved into an apartment where the toilet was so low that my it caused me to sit lower than my knees. It made it difficult to get up. I could not afford to buy a taller toilet for this apartment. I never liked this hard plastic seats. I remember those when my Dad had his stroke and they were disgusting. This was an answer to a prayer. It is easy to attach; but better yet, it is super easy to clean! You can either use with or without the handles: or just one handle.
