These boots were exactly what I was looking for. I love the style and that they go to the middle of my calf (I am 5'4" with a 16 1/4" calf) and these fit me perfectly without any extra width flopping around the calf. I usually would wear a size 8.5 regular width in boots but because they are wide, I went with a size 8 and there is plenty of room and not too wide, and room if I wore thicker socks. The zipper seems like it will hold up at least for how often I plan to wear these. These are definitely not leather boots, so they are pretty light which is great as we do not need to tote around any extra weight if we can help it. To me, in a shoe, how they feel and support the foot is of the utmost importance and these have a small bit of cushion inside and a very small bit of arch support - I have had worse, so I could wear them for a few hours but will be investing in an insert so I could wear them all day at work. The biggest part I need to mention is that the soles are beyond slippery and that was on all types of flooring, so I had my hubby do a light sanding on them using 80 grit sandpaper and they are now perfectly safe for wear. I finally found a pair of boots (though not ankle boots), that fit my ankles and calfs. Have no trouble getting them on because the zipper goes all the way down to the bottom. The calf really is extra wide. The sizing is perfect and the material is so soft. Read more

Definitely true to it's extra wide at the calf and the shoe perfect they were comfortable BUT 😡 I purchase them in black leather and I got a dusty looking suede material, they look like I've been riding a dirt bike with them on , terrible and that's a nasty look to me 😡 . So I would give the true to it's width size a 4 star BUT the material a zero but I'll rate a 1 star. Read more
