I will tell you that I have had my fair share of negative experiences with towels I have bought and used. Even more I tend to stay away from some products that are made in China. This Particular Towel comes from Japan but I still hesitate as I question manufacturing Ethics. But that being said I do take chances to try new and venture into the unknown. The description on the Ueno towel distinctly describes a rigorous process to remove all impurities in its making process. That was my first red flag, The second red flag was the use of the word Luxury to the describe the product. Once I received the product I was able to challenge everything I described with some critical observation in using the Towels. I was pleasantly surprised with the softness which appealed to me immediately especially as i use it on my face repeatedly day after day. I washed the Towels and they still remained soft in texture even after 3 washes. They are in deed 100 percent Cotton as you can tell easily with repeated use. My personal thoughts after using this set of two towels is that they do meet my standards of quality and absorbency and continue to retain those standards. Is it the best premium towel out there ? No there are many competitors out there that even offer Supima which is a higher end cotton and also those labeled organic which this one does not but UENO does have a distinct process that is used to make sure that all impurities are removed in its production. I later found out that UENO does have an exclusive line that is of organic cotton on their own website. Amazon also has pictures detailing the production process. The company seems legit with good practices. Bottom line its your personal choice to choose. I Like these towels as they do provide a quality that is satisfactory to me. Towels are nice and soft as well as absorbent. They soak up lots of moisture. However, at this price point I expect much more. The towels are much lighter than expected. The thread count is not very high. You can find better towels at a department for much less. Read more
I thought they were just simple cotton towels, but I was wrong. They are very well-made towel that are soft, and very absorbent. I tried after washing my face, and it absorbed water just by putting it on my face lightly. I visited their website and learnt that the company has more than 50 years of history. This time only greyish colors were offered but I would like to see other colors as well. I read that I shouldn't use fabric softener, but I wonder if I could use a dryer, or I should stick to hang-dry. So far I've been hang-dry them and I noticed they dry fast. They're on the pricier side, but for the quality, it's worth paying for. ---Addendum 02/01/2025--- I've been using these towels for about a month and they're great. Now I use a dryer without using fabric softener, and they're extremely fluffy, and when I place it on my face to dry, I feel water is being absorbed without rubbing. This has not changed after washing several times. I purchase an additional set on my own. They're on the pricier side so I can only add one set at a time, but I'd like to add more as my current towels wear out. Read more
I admit the dimensions threw me off a bit…I am accustomed to hand-sized towels being a specific size, a standardized size. These two towels do not adhere to standardized sizing norms. Instead of a cookie-cutter approach, these towels focus on comfort and quality. And, I am glad they do. I found myself wondering if I had ever felt a softer towel? I have no idea how they achieved this; was it fabric content? Was it only me who noticed the exquisite softness? Well, I may never know the answers to these questions, but I do know quality when I see it, and certainly, when I feel it. These towels are thick, as well. I recently received the Luxury Japanese Face Towels - Set of 2, Senshu Towels, Charcoal Gray, Approx. 13" x 33.5". These towels are incredibly soft and absorbent, living up to their "luxury" claim with their premium Senshu quality and elegant charcoal gray color. The UENO TOWEL Luxury Japenese Senshu Towels are incredibly soft, perfect size for many uses (face, hands, hair, etc...) I am using one for my hand towel in a small bath and the other for my after face drying towel. It washes incredible well with out any issues. They dry quickly even used as a hand towel. I have only good things to say about these towels. One things I did notice when I received them is that they are more of the new grey/green? But I am finding that with a lot of items in home product's now. I am not sure the reason but it doesn't bother me as long as it feels this good to my skin and washes and dries as well as this does.
