Fast, plug-n-play capability made formatting drives a breeze! We acquire devices and refurbish them all the time and having this tool eliminates so much labor with installing nvme SSDs. Its just as pictured, and it detects the hardware change immediately, so no restarting, no BIOS boot order adjustment, just plug in, and as long as you have no other boot drive, it chooses the ssd in the device! I was shocked how easy it was. This was all on windows, mind you. Im unfamiliar with apple and basically have a hard time enjoying the OS, but it worked perfectly with my Surface Pro and custom built tower. I formatted two SSDs and successfully installed games using the device, just to see how it would perform under pressure and i didnt have a single hiccup using a WD NVMe with 7400 write speed. There is a thermal strip for heat distribution but i decided against using it during testing. Very impressive device and i am excited with the convenience, since it will save us a ton of time on SSD formatting and testing! Read more

My 280mm M&B M.2 drive fit perfectly, but I left off the heat transfer tape because the drive was only going to be in the case for a short time before being installed in its final location. The easy to use squeeze locking/unlocking mechanism was easy and secure enough. At $13 I was happy with the value. I didn't test throughput, but moving data between my system and the drive was seamless. Read more

Seems to work very well as just a standard enclosure. But, if you're planning on using this with a raspberry Pi I might look for another confirmed compatible enclosure. I have tried forever to get my Pi to boot from this thing and it just doesn't seem to want to. I'm going to keep it because it'll be useful for basic stroage needs but otherwise I need to find something else for my Pi. If you just need something to hold a drive for basic storage it's hard to beat the price on this but I need to find something different. Read more

This works very well! Had a laptop die with an internal SSD and used this to pull all the files off of it. Worked exactly as expected! Read more

Zero issues. Works great, and with the universal USB adapters, was able to run USB-C and get a 1tb drive cloned in under 10 minutes. Great deal for the price Read more

I used it with a full length SSD. The SSD installed easily and without tools. I didn't do any formal benchmarks, but file transfers seemed rapid enough. It also supported other lengths of SSDs, and came with a few spare locking clips to hold in the SSD. It was well built and looks like it will hold up for quite a while. Read more
