I recommend these for easy pill organization, especially during travel. With several diagnoses, I take a stupid amount of both medications and supplements--Enough that I often had trouble closing my regular pill organizer tops. This way, rather than grabbing my AM meds from multiple places, I simply grab a pack, rip it open, and that's it. I like that the packs open easily - they come in a strip with perforations between each section, and the perforations on the sides, make it a cinch to tear them open. (which is great when I'm stumbling around like a zombie, pre-coffee.) I recommend when filling them that you get something to rest the plastic pill guide on, so that it's propped a little higher than the bags it slots into. Even just a dishtowel worked for me. Before that I was having difficulty with the pill guide "nozzles" coming out of the packs they were supposed to be filling. One thing to note is that you'll need a heat implement of some kind to seal the bags. I was able to use the heat sealer on our vacuum sealer, though it wasn't quite long enough to do a row of bags at a time, so I did it in halves, sealing one part, moving it over, and sealing the next section. It sealed just fine despite the mucking around I had to do to get it sealed. You'll want either a food vacuum sealer with a heat seal function, or a hair straighter or something of the like. It's important you don't use too much heat in sealing or you'll melt the actual bag rather than just creating a seal at the top. Despite it taking a good while to fill and seal, these really are perfect for travel or just making you day easier. There are spots on the bags to mark the time of day they should be taken, and for trips, I actually number the bags as well, so I know I have the right amount. And since the bags are disposable, I'm making just a bit more room in the suitcase every time I take them. Sometimes that space is at a premium! Reviewing SODOIN M Pill Bag Set - 600 Heat Seal Pill Bags + Loading Tray, Our dog takes a good assortment of supplements & medication each day. Traveling with her large pill organizer is a pain. This is the perfect solution. It doesn’t take up any more time to fill than the organizer but takes up much less space. I should clarify, it doesn’t take up any more time, excluding the time it takes to seal the bags. If you do it in a row, before separating the bags in each row though, that is super quick to do. I ordered one of those cheap, chip bag heat sealers to seal up each bag, and it works great for this purpose. The loader is easy to use, but I find it quicker & easier to load each bag up by hand. Just my preference. A lot of people will probably prefer the pill loader. Each bag is easy to write on, if you wish, but the images depicted on the bag make it pretty easy to decipher what time of day each bag is for. I was worried since they didn’t have perforations to open them after sealing, that it would be a pain, but they are really easy to tear open. Even someone with heavy arthritis should be able to open them without any issues. That said, you need to tear them horizontally to open them, so even though they are easy to tear open, they are sturdy enough they won't rip open in luggage. Even though $30 seems high, you get 600 pill pockets. That works out to $0.05 a piece, with the pill loader being included for free. The more accurate way to look at it is likely that the pill loader is worth $20 & the bags are 3 cents a piece. Good value. Read more
This product has a lot of potential but it missed a few things from the start. The printing on the pill pouches is small so for people who are visually compromised, it will be hard to read and mark properly. In addition, I am wondering why the grouping is in 6's rather than 7's. There are 7 days in a week and it seems that having things grouped in 7's would make more sense. I used my curling iron to heat seal the bags. It works fine. I can go over sections that don't quite seal enough so no problem there. Exercise caution when seperating the bags because they will easily tear and open, thereby making all the contents come out and then having the reseal or repackage. So be gentle when you tear things apart on the perforation. I tried using the pill loading tray and it works well. I like it better than having to do it by hand. Just make sure each section is properly inserted into the pouch otherwise....well, you know. This system is a good way to organize pills. The pouches hold over a dozen pills so they are roomy for those days when I have to take more pills than usual. All in all, I will enjoy using this product for a long time to come. Read more
I use this for storing some of my pills in the car for when I forget them away from home. The product works fine and allows me to keep air tight daily pills in baggies. It's a little difficult to load 6 at a time because of the size. I prefer to fill 3 at a time. I keep gummies separate from pills so that don't stick together in the bags. When filling gummies they get stuck falling into the bags so I have to push them in by hand. Also with larger pills it causes the plastic bag to crease a little when I try to seal it on my vacuum sealer; this can fail to make a seal when creased. A full sheet of 6 bags is longer than my vacuum sealer so it's even more reason I prefer filling 3 at a time.
