I purchased this to be used at my desk as the charger for my Macbook. It stayed in the little basket shown in the picture that holds a power strip and keeps everything off the floor under my desk. I hadn't plugged my laptop in at my desk in a while and put it there while I was at work today and came home and found it uncharged. Upon looking it seems that the block and the actually plug separated and will not stay back together. It is now unusable. The only thing that may have bumped the basket is a dog. Very disappointed that this did not hold up! What if it actually was my travel power supply? Would definitely not hold up in a backpack going to and from places and being plugged in and being taken out often! Read more

I will say that this works well out of the box. It will get the job done if you're simply charging without performing any heavy intensive tasks such as video editing with Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve. I made the mistake of charging to 100% and then began rendering a finished product with the charger. 30 minutes into the rendering, the block became extremely hot to the touch and then failed. The MacBook was rapidly switching between power and battery. I tested it to see if it would charge my iPhone and and Pixel 9 Pro which it would not. I would suggest buying a legitimate Apple charger block if you're going to do any heavy intensive tasks as the Apple chargers get lukewarm during heavy usage rather than scorching hot. Other than that, it works just fine for light use. Read more
