Madden NFL 23 PlayStation 5

Easily the best and most polished version of madden to date. I have not noticed any of the bugs that others have noticed, though I don’t doubt that they are out there, and I am sure EA Tiburon will work out the minor kinks within an update or two, but as far as gameplay, animations, graphics, etc. it is easily the best Madden I have ever played (and I have played them all). One thing I would suggest is turning the interception gameplay sliders way, way down. When I first installed the game and I was slow simming CPU vs CPU, there were something like 5-10 interceptions per game, which is insane. I dropped the interception sliders down to “30“ instead of the default “50,” and that balanced them out to only 1-3 interceptions per game, which is far more realistic. Other than that I’d have to say it’s well worth the money this year. **************** UPDATE: 10/7/22 ************** With the latest updates, they fixed the interceptions occurring too frequently, however, fumbles still occur way too frequently. Even with a running back who has “99 Carry,” he still fumbles twice a game, which is just silly. So now the interception sliders can be returned to their default of 50, but fumble sluders have to be turned down. Even so, I continue to be ridiculously impressed by this game. I actually read an article recently that said they added something like 3500 more animations than were in last year’s game, and every single time I play it I notice new ones. Everything from new tipped pass animations, to new pancake block animations, to new tackles, and some SPECTACULAR catching animations (AJ Brown does some really wild, jumping one-handed catches that are so cool to watch), I’m just blown away by this game this year! Update 8/26 22 after receiving game last Friday I finally received my code on Tues & everything was there So im finally keeping my word of updating my review the game is good & a must buy one of better maddens in awhile... Thank you amazon I pre ordered this on June 4th 2022 & received the game on release day yesterday Those who pre order are supposed to receive a code via email from Amazon granting you the All Madden Gear,Madden Strategy Item & An 83 over fantasy pack letting you choose 1 player on offense & Defense Contacted EA they told me Amazon is supposed to provide the code Amazon support claims EA is supposed to provide it to me..However since I ordered from Amazon EA has confirmed Amazon is the one who is supposed to send them our I'm tired of the run around I just want the extra content I paid for.. 24 hours later Still haven't received my pre order bonus code I never had this much issues with Amazon before its like nobody knows what going on & are clueless... So I'm giving low star ratings hoping Amazon will do me & others right The game itself is 5 stars as its very good I'd recommend buying That said the 1 star is for Amazon poor customer service regarding the pre order bonus this is totally unacceptable & im not the only one who has been screwed over by Amazon.. Still getting into it but improved over the past 2 years in terms of playability. Lots of modes and fun to play. The past couple of Maddens I tried were boring to play and offered no controls over my franchise and I quickly lost interest. M23 improves on all these complaints, but could still be better. I didn’t buy this at release date and only paid $30 for the game. Also I’m aware EA has made numerous patches to improve the game after release and the initial release is why the game has such terrible reviews. Honestly EA should spend more time testing and refining the game prior to release instead of using early adopters as unpaid beta testers leading to those terrible reviews. Graphically, beautiful. Controls are smooth and responsive and on PS5 feature haptic feedback with the XSX version having almost no vibration. When you are playing football you expect to feel those hits and tackles, so the lack of feedback on the XSX is a huge negative. Game looks the same on both consoles. (I have Ultimate Game Pass on XSX, bought the game for PS5.). I enjoy the game and recommend picking it up on sale for PS5. Update - better than Madden 24. Read more
