The phone is locked in. I am not worried about it slipping off at all. The magnetic is strong and attaches firmly. Plus it comes with a strap that wraps around the pole, which makes it secure. This has become a very useful tool for me. The magnet on the back is very strong & when I’m working & my hands are busy or dirty, having my phone in this holder close by, attached by the magnet, could actually be a lifesaver. I’m happy with the construction, & the crank handle on the side works great to tighten the grip on my phone to hold it securely. It also swivels, so I can position it to my needs.
