Fantastic design, robust construction, but mind the size

J LMarch 20, 2025

I'm rating the Seon 2L five stars even though I'm not keeping it. I'd really rate it closer to 4.5 stars. I love the design so much. It looks as great in person as it does in the pictures. Minimalistic and modern. I love how robust this bag feels. It really looks and feels extremely water resistant, if not outright waterproof (though I haven't directly tested this). This is undoubtedly a very high-quality bag. With that said, I use a Mammut Tasch 1L and there are a few things I like about that bag that aren't present with the Seon 2L. First, the main compartment has two zippers instead one on the Seon. Second, the Tasch's strap is removable. Third, the Tasch has a couple of pockets in the main compartment for cards and such, as well as three pen holders. None of these are dealbreakers, but I do feel the Tasch is ever so slightly better for daily carry because of the aforementioned features. The main reason I'm not keeping the Seon 2L is simply because of its size. I feel it's a little too big for carrying my phone, wallet, and other essentials. It's really more like iPad mini size, and the padded internal pocket suggests this is the intended use. Frankly, this is my fault for not examining the product measurements more carefully. Being a 2L versus my 1L Tasch, it's naturally going to be a bigger bag, but I was unprepared for how much larger of a footprint it had. Part of the misperception I think has to do with the fact that the models pictured wearing the bag are always on the taller side. So what looks good on a larger individual might not look quite as good for someone smaller (I'm 5'6"/168cm). If you're wondering how well it would work for you, I'd recommend cutting or folding a rectangle that's 6 11/16 inches by 10 5/8 inches (17 x 27cm) out of a piece of paper. Hold it up to your body in the mirror and see what you think. It didn't work for me, but I still love it. If you need a bag large enough to hold an iPad mini or a notebook, this is perfect, especially with the water resistance and the padded pocket. Read more
