For some years now, I've been using a popular, less expensive brand curler that does the job, but with no ceramic coating, it leaves my hair dry from use. I don't curl my hair often, but when I do, I use it on the highest setting. My hair needs the extra heat to seal in the curl. Since I had previously tried a ceramic curler with unimpressive results, I was doubtful my hair would hold. Happily, I was wrong. This curler heats fast and sets in the curls beautifully. In fact, at the highest setting, I have to work quickly or the curl will be too strong. And this is with product in my hair to keep it sleek and frizz-free during my blowout. I just put a little hairspray on at the end and done! I agree with other reviewers that this price point should be reduced. However, I'm happy to have now switched to a curler that provides improved care for my hair. Read more
Purchased as a gift and she loves it. She said it’s great for travel. Read more
Did not really work for hair. It heats well but the curls don’t hold. Not worth the price . Not good quality. Will be returning. Read more
Obsessed with this curler, shared it with everyone I know. Literally get compliments every time I curl my hair ! Read more
Great curling iron. The heat level is good and it’s easy to work with. The color is fun and it works well to curl hair. Read more
I was impressed by the packaging. You can tell they want to seem eco because the cartons are made of cardboard and egg carton material. The holographic logos are impressive. The colors are impressive. I love the colors on the piece…but then things started to go downhill… So to turn the bottom base on, it’s a long press. Then I pressed the down button to the temperature I wanted. The screen blinks for a bit. I wait for it to stop, then the lines to the left begin to go up and down. The correct temperature is reached when the lines stop moving :) 1.25” Curling Wand: The colors are beautiful. I love the pastel pink kickstand. I had it start heating on my silicone heating pad. It only took 54 seconds to get to 325 F. I was impressed…until I moved the kick stand back so I could use the wand. The kick stand was pretty hot. Not hot enough to burn me, but hot enough for me to wonder if it’d melt at a hotter setting. 325F was the setting for fine hair. There are two settings above it (360F and 425F). I tried to curl my hair with the wand without a glove (this set doesn’t come with a glove), but I was too scared so I went and got my heat protecting glove. My fingers got burnt pretty bad even with the glove :( It was like my glove wasn’t even there (this was one of my better heat gloves, too!) This burn probably has affected my review in a negative way. It took some of my Art*c Fox hair color off my hair and onto the wand. I was able to clean the color off the wand with a wipe. It all came off. I gave up trying to use this. I couldn’t get my curls to work because I was too afraid to deal with the wand after the burn. 1” Curling Iron: So I went to get the 1” curling iron. It also heated amazingly fast, but I set it to the lowest setting of 200F this time because I was afraid of getting burnt again. It curls well and fast. It cooled down enough to touch with my bare hands in about ten minutes. It was during the use of this that I realized that I forgot to lock the barrel in. You turn the circular part with the lines on it (the top one that goes with the curling iron, not the base) clockwise to lock it. Oh, and at 200F, it didn’t make the color from my hair stick to it. I didn’t notice that this was better or worse than another brand to be honest. It did heat up super fast, though. It’s dual voltage and double insulated. The surface of the irons are smooth and didn’t catch my hair, but the hinge on the 1” one did snag a strange of hair. The cord is the swiveling type. There is a velcro cord keeper. The numbers are easy to see. I took a star off for the burn. All the other wands I’ve tried come with heat resistant gloves that work with their product. I don’t understand why this one didn’t. Cold start to 200 takes about 5 to 7 seconds. Built-in stand has a non-slip covering that holds the iron firmly and the handle is well weighted to prevent the hot iron from accidentally leaning on something. Digital display is illuminated, though has a strange milky appearance, and can be red from any angle. Display provides heating progress to indicate whether or not selected temperature is reached. Ability to lock temperature is nice to prevent accidental button presses that would cause undesirable results. Power cord can freely rotate around on the base preventing odd positions that are uncomfortable because the power cord is in the way. Overall, The product feels very sturdy and well put together with no loose bits of plastic or anything that feels like a possible point of failure. Springs work well and the general fitment is good. The branding is cute, but maybe a little bit overboard. Product ships with a very large poster that I assume is intended to be hung up in salons displaying the brand and the product features in English and French. Read more
