I am 5’8” and it has a stretchy lining, hit a few inches above the knees and the sequin colors are gorgeous! I received so many compliments and danced the night away! I first bought this dress in the blue ombre back in 2018. I wore it to a cocktail dinner and got loads of compliments. The fit is perfect. It has just enough stretch and isn't too heavy. The dress languished in my closet for years, unworn and forgotten. This past May (2023), I had to help chaperone the 8th-grade dance at my school and shuffled through my closet for a cute but appropriate party dress. I found this dress, smooshed at the back, and pulled it out. After years of being squashed and unloved, it still looked great. Would it fit, though? The pandemic hadn't been kind to any of us. I pulled it over my head, and it still looked great, and it fit! Huzzah! I put on some cute heels and dashed back to school. The other staff offered many compliments, and even the students who, work really hard not noticed teachers are actually people, commented on how great I looked. I got several, "Mrs. B! If you need a dress that looks amazing in photos, this one delivers, but for an actual party, it’s a no from me. Let me explain. The dress photographs beautifully because the sequins catch the light just right. But in person, it definitely looks cheap. The sequins are very large and placed in a chaotic, uneven pattern. Sequins this big rarely look elegant or high-quality, and here they overpower the dress in all the wrong ways. The shape of the dress is very basic, so normally the sequins should elevate it, but instead they make it look less refined. The side seams are uneven too. I imagine it might sit better on someone curvier, but on my very average “mom of two” body, it just didn’t flatter at all. Size is accurate, I got a M and it fits fine. Bottom line: If you want something elegant, sophisticated, high-quality, and party-appropriate, this isn’t it. But if you need a dazzling look specifically for a New Year’s photoshoot, it can work beautifully. Good luck! Read more
