The taste is decent when creamer added. I treated this powder like a matcha latte but I don’t think it’s for that. I think it’s only for smoothies because it’s a bit on the gritty side. I’ll definitely finish it because of the nutritional value but I’ll stick to just matcha next time. Read more

Hm, hemp protein powder AND matcha? Interesting, and.. sure why not. Also includes some beet powder, which is an unexpected but welcome bonus. I have been drinking matcha for its antioxidants and long lasting energy for 15 years or so. More recently I have seen it added to everything, and I am cool with that. I have some matcha smoothie powders, and this fits in along with that. I highly recommend matcha if looking for a true fog lifter. I love my coffee, need my coffee, and wont stop drinking coffee, but side by side, it is matcha that will give that true lift, and long lasting low key/non jittery energy. Very interesting stuff. I drink my coffee every morning, then switch to matcha. Never gets old the awe that matcha inspires. I will just find myself having more ambition, motivations, and steady energy. Like, why do I feel good? oh yeh.. I had some matcha! I have it nearly always in a smoothie or with other ingredients to mask the matcha flavor (I love what matcha does for me, but I have never loved the flavor). I like it prepared as an iced latte (sweetened), or added to something lemony for a green lemonade, and so on. I drink my coffee black, strong, and unsweetened, but matcha I need to add stuff to it. Anyway, this hemp-matcha-beet combo is nice and I really like adding it to my smoothies. I have done a super thin smoothy by using more water, therefore making it more into a drink than a thick meal like smoothie. Very adaptable as it blends, dissolves pretty well. And in case you are wondering how much matcha is in it per serving, while it doesnt expressly say, there is enough caffeine per serving (and the taste of matcha) that gives me confidence that this has plenty of matcha in it. Not just a token amount. Not surprised as Manitoba Harvest has good quality products. I only learned of the matcha variety as I normally use this company for my hemp powders. I drank this for breakfast as my "coffee" and it has kept me energized all morning and mid afternoon! I am chasing after a little toddler all day so I really needed the protein and caffeine. This has 56mg of caffeine, which is just enough for me without going overboard. I know the coffee I drink every morning has over 100mg's, which can sometimes feel a bit much. This is a much healthier alternative with other vitamins. This only has 1g of sugar, which I am very happy with. I also REALLY appreciate that they didn't add stevia to sweeten this because I refuse to get anything with stevia, and they seem to put that in everything these days to make it "sugar free". If you are someone who prefers this to have a little sweetness to it you can always add your own honey, sugar, or sweetening agent. I drank this as is and it tastes great. I even added some half and half to make it like my morning coffee. I've also tried it with oat milk, delicious. I think the hemp powder in this does make it a little scratchy when going down my throat, so I have to drink this slowly. I can't gulp it like other drinks because of the texture. However, it isn't thick or anything like that. When I first stirred this powder in hot water it was a brownish color, and once I let it sit for a few minutes it turned slightly pink. I thought that was interesting. Overall I am very happy with this product and this has a been a brand I've trusted and consumed for quite some time. Thank you for not adding (much) sugar to this! TIP: once you are done drinking this, take the cup to your kitchen sink and fill the cup/mug with tap water, especially if you plan to wash the cup later. This will make it easier to clean your cup later on. Once you let it dry the stuff will stay caked on to the side of your cup and be harder to clean and scrub off. Read more
