Burns nicely
Well, I haven't had a chance to use it yet because I bought the wrong size. But I crumbled it up and pieces and it should work just fine. Read more
These need air to burn properly.
OK. I did research. Here is the story on why these don't burn easily. They need air. They don't burn well in a closed or tight container like an incense bowl or other such, I lit one and placed it on a metal plate. It burned for hours and I put my sage on top of it. They might be good in a large bowl but probably need a grate to lift them off the bottom. I also ordered the smaller 3mm size. Maybe they'll burn better in a smaller container. Read more

Be careful..!
Can be unsafe if cracked into smaller pieces. They pop upon lighting and pieces fly off, could be a possible fire hazard. I will look for a new brand. In fairness I have not lite whole coal to know if popping and pieces flying off is consistent. Read more
Smells terrible
While this charcoal burns hot and well, it ruined my incense due to the horrendous smell it puts out. Truly, I do not know how anyone can use this. Do not recommend. Read more
