Good find soft my skin Great value Read more
Great packaging though the bar is very crumbly taking it from inside. One of the most interesting points is its fragrance, however. Refreshingly clean. Masculine, yet perhaps it’s the same as Pine Sol or Pine Tar, if not for the combination of oils used to produce its scent? Non-drying. Leaving the skin really soft and lathers easily. The charcoal does have a residue of grey/black. It isn’t permanent of course, only soap stained. Otherwise a decent charcoal-based product to use everyday. Read more
This really good bar soap. It doesn't ship with any bubble wrap packaging so during shipping with a thin package my bar a had a cosmetic dent on the corner. Like it dropped on a hard surface. The best thing about this soap is not only how big it is compared to the average bar of soap but how strong the fragrance is on my not expensive cologne but just enough I know it's on me. Also when you open the package on the first day the scent is very strong to be an air freshener. By day it's still there but it isn't as strong. No matter the fragrance you buy from Marlowe you will be pleased with how good it smells and how nice your bathroom will have a pleasant sent. I bought charcoal soap because I use charcoal tooth paste and I like black. Since soap wears down the cosmetic damage from shipping didn't bother me a whole lot. I didn't file a complaint with Amazon about how it looked when I opened the package. The price you pay for Marlowe soap is worth it. Read more
105 is best for my 54 year old So. Cal. construction worker, mountain biker, skin, but not hair. Marlowe offers a reasonable 12 pack discount. $7 and change per 7 ounce bar. Not bad for the good stuff. However, 105 doesn't get my hair soft like Bravo Sierra Sandlewood does, but it's not 14 bucks a 7 ounce bar either. And BS doesn't beat 105 skin moisturizing or bulk deals. Dr. Bronners, Kirks, dr squatch, caress, dove, and many others I have given a fair shot at. The best for me is a combo. Sandlewood bravo sierra SPARINGLY $$$ for hair, 105 for skin. I sometimes overwork/dry out my hands, knees, feet beyond what soap can fix. Bevel brand lotion is a great value, masculine, non greasy, pairs well with Marlowe 105. Read more

Marlowe Charcoal Soap is great. It gets a 5/5 for moisturizing & it's one of the best bars of soap I've used. It leaves your skin feeling moisturized, clean. The scent is masculine I use this in combination with a Tea Tree Body Wash from New York Biology & raw shea butter after i shower. I read somewhere that dermatologist recommend using triple milled bar soap vs body wash. I've found that some body washes are drying with the exception of Neutrogena & Tea Tree Body wash, haven't tried the Marlowe body wash yet but maybe in the future. And the products all play well together. The Tea Tree Body Wash from New York Biology, Marlowe Charcoal Bar Soap & the shea butter or Jergens Ultra Healing. The shea butter just kinda lays in the cut & does its thing. The end result is really nice if you haven't tried it yet, Amazon has Raw shea butter. I get the 1lb clump but it's easy to use. Marlowe Charcoal Bar Soap makes a huge difference. 5/5 Read more
1 Year Update: This bar is really lasting. I use it daily and it's only about 30% smaller than new. One bar might last me two years. Ordering it for family members. Another reviewer commented on a price increase but the current price is only a $1 more than I paid for it a year ago. I bought this soap and the Art of Sport Body Bar at the same time. I wanted a charcoal soap with some texture but not like Lava soap. You have to use it awhile before you get down to the gritty part but it is just lightly gritty. I don't use it on my face or my whole body, just parts that require more effort. I tried it on my face but it left a film I had to wash off with bath gel. The Art of Sport soap was more refined and designed for total cleaning but smelled like it was trying too hard to be masculine (like Axe soaps). This Marlowe soap smelled more like soap than a cheap man's cologne which is fine. Recently my husband's hands got coated with carbon that Dawn and a brush couldn't totally remove. I gave him this soap to try and it removed the remaining stain. No wonder it removes antiperspirant so well. Read more
