THIS HEAT GUN IS PRACTICALLY NEW AND THE HEATING ELEMENT WENT OUT ALREADY. I'VE BEEN USING MASTER HEAT GUNS FOR A LOT OF YEARS AND THEIR QUALITY HAS GONE DOWNHILL THE PAST 5YRS. VERY FRAGILE FOR THE PRICE THEY ARE CHARGING. I AM VERY CAREFUL USING THIS HEAT GUN BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T AND BUMP IT AROUND A LOT, IT WON'T LAST AS LONG AS THEY USED TOO. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I USED TO PAY $59 A FEW YEARS AGO AND THEY LASTED AT LEAST A YEAR WITH HEAVY USE. NOW WE PAY $180 AND THEY LAST IN SOME CASES 2 WEEKS, AND I HAVE SOME THAT HAVE FAILED RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. I accidentally dropped it onto the floor of my carpeted van and the plastic strap that holds the round plastic base to the motor body broke at the tightening screw's end. Rather than throw the gun away, I improvised by replacing it with a steel hose clamp. Had to grind the underside of the round base to clear the strap so that it could still be set on a flat surface. Gun is good but so disappointed that they used plastic parts for the strap and base. I've had 2 cast metal versions which were much more durable. Probably best to stick to that version than this cheaper model. Read more
