Quality wise it's closer to ceremonial than culinary- "barista" grade is in the middle. It's a bright, light green and mixes easily into warm water. I use soy milk because the brand I use is lightly sweetened and it's thicker, tastier and much more nutritious than oat or almond milk. I obtained this matcha for both baking as well as matcha lattes as I tend to not like culinary matcha very much due to the bitterness. I would say that this was very fragrant and not bitter at all. The texture was very solid without grittiness and the colour was a bright green. This is exactly what I look for in high quality matcha and I wasn't disappointed at all with this one. I suppose my only desire for this product is to know exactly what region of Japan this matcha was sourced from. It puts my mind at ease to know more about where the matcha is sourced. I love matcha, so my rating of it will always be more generous (than other beverages). This matcha powder is organic. And from Japan. It's quite bitter, but easily remedied with choice of sweetener. I prefer honey or brown sugar. How much matcha in each drink really depends, but the general rule is about 1/2 Teaspoonful per serving. That's 2 grams, so this 100 gram pouch will make plenty of drinks. Priced $30 at time of order and review, for the 100 gram pouch. This is a bag of barista grade matcha powder. I’ve never heard of this grade before. After a quick tasting, I think it is very similar to a culinary grade matcha powder. To balance the bitterness, I made matcha latte instead. It tasted much better with steamed milk and sweetener. Read more
I drink an oatmilk matcha latte every morning and wanted to try new brands. This one is a nice choice for the value and flavor! You definitely need a matcha whisk or at least a milk frother tool to make sure the tea blends well into your milk/water. I do love that is it a nice green color, as lower quality matcha has more muted green tones, so this one seems like a decent quality but not the highest quality I have had. It's overall a good value for the price since you only need a small bit of matcha per drink, depending on preference, and the bag says it should last 100 servings..lol I hope you get to enjoy this as much as I do! :) Read more
