My son only drinks green tea (and beer - lol), and this is the only brand he drinks. We used to be able to get it at our local grocery store, but the quit stocking it. So glad we found it on Amazon. Read more
I don't know what it is about this tea (maybe the love?), but it genuinely makes me happy when I drink it. I love the flavor with a few drops of stevia, and I love the gentle energy boost it gives me. This is my daily afternoon pick-me-up potion, and I love that it feels so healthy. Read more

Unfortunately the main thing that justifies the high price of this Ito-en "Matcha Love" tea is its packaging, which is incredibly beautiful in every detail. Within the outer shipping box are six boxes of ten individually wrapped tea bags, emblazoned with lovely foil printing and well-designed directions; the individual bags are high-quality (and non-compostable) plastic pyramids that puff with extra matcha powder as soon as you unwrap them. Visually, it's just a beautiful experience. The tea itself, though, is pretty ordinary; it's not bad and there are no off flavors, but it's a very subdued, slightly dull and grassy green tea even with the added matcha. It definitely has more of a caffeine kick than a pure sencha, and a slightly stronger flavor as well, but there's also comparatively little to be found of the pleasant flavor and scent notes you might expect from either a premium matcha or a premium green tea, whether earthy, grassy, floral, or stony/metallic. For the price, there are better options, but considered on its own this is an okay, basic green tea with no major flaws. Read more
