My godchild is having a tough time in school this year, so I want to encourage her to do her best. We were talking about how she has a hand-me-down backpack that she really doesn't like. I saw this backpack with its matching lunch box and pencil bag and think she will be very excited to get it. The backpack comes with the standard amount of pockets inside and out. I love that the should straps are padded as I don't want her new backpack to press too hard on her shoulders. This backpack is water resistant so her things inside the backpack should stay dry while she is waiting for the bus. The backpack has a strap which would allow her to put it on a rolling cart if she needed that. The lunch box uses the same material and design as the backpack. It has 1 outside pocket and a roomy inside compartment. It is insulated so she can keep her lunch cold with an ice pack. The pencil case can be clipped to the backpack or stashed in one of the pockets of the backpack. It is a single compartment bag with a good zipper. It should secure her pencils, pens, and erasers for convenient access. Read more

The media could not be loaded. The color in person is more as it is depicted than in my review photos. I really adore the color and scale look to it but was not able to capture it to it's best with my home lighting. All of the zippers work nicely to open the accessories or the main piece being the backpack. There is a love of functional storage room built in to the backpack without it being overwhelming. Inside the backpack is it a mid grey color. This is lovely because I find it much easier to look through the backpack and make sure everything is ready for the day. Matching sets are always helpful too with multiple kids because it is easier to get the correct pencil bags and lunches with the correct little one. Solid backpack for elementary. Love the padded straps and matching lunch bag and pencil case. Very spacious and holds quite a bit for school, including their papers as well as lunch bag inside with room for a jacket. Many compartments/pockets, there are two in the very front before you even unzip the first section. Main section also has a little back pocket in case you do slip in a tablet or laptop. Against the back, there is also a smaller zipper compartment that is like a hidden secret. My daughter likes to slip in little notes/drawings and feel like they're her special stashing spot. The side where you put the water bottle also has a buckle/strap so it can hold onto taller bottles. Aside from being functional, they're so cute and the designs are nicely made. This backpack set is just as pictured and a lovely quality! My daughter is thrilled with it and I am sure it will last quite a few years. Previously we have always stuck with very reliable but fairly plain backpacks, but next year she will attend a school with uniforms, so this bag will allow her to still show some personality since she can't do that through her clothes anymore. The straps are well-padded, including the loop/handle on top. My daughter especially loves the shape of the lunchbox, which is shaped like mine, so she feels like we match.
