We were able to spend a couple nights with this topper when staying with friends, but trust these reviews, it is so worth it! Instructions said to let it expand for at least 48 hours, but this topper puffed up to the full 3 inches in only a couple hours when we laid it out on the bed. Fortunately there was no smell at all to off gas, which we were a bit concerned about. I noticed some reviews showed the topper getting a rip in it, one person said the manufacturer recommended using a topper cover, which we did buy at the same time. I already assumed we'd need to protect the topper from dirt, body odor and rips, and I reviewed the cover separately (also 5 stars!). After putting the cover on, we were able to sleep on it the same night. Boy what a difference! The support is so luxurious. You might think a foam of this type would sleep hot, but it really wasn't. I prefer a cool room with a comforter, and this topper prevents overheating with it's gel and the vent holes throughout. It reduced my tossing and turning through the night, and also dampened any bounce transfer when getting up, so not waking my partner. Within an hour of both of us getting up, the topper had returned to its full shape with no dents remaining. You may need to buy deeper sheets, but we had them already for the existing mattress. I did pull a footstool up to the head of the bed because the frame was already high, now it's really 'elevated' lol. at $51 it was much more affordable than I expected, even when adding the price of the cover. My husband and I love this mattress topper! He likes more firm beds and I like soft beds so we were worried he wouldn’t like it, but now I could hardly get him out of bed because he’s always so comfortable in there with this mattress topper. We both sleep so much better with this mattress topper. The only problem with this mattress topper is that every time you see your bed you’re going to want to curl up into it because it’s so comfy, haha! We bought the 2 inch one which is perfect. It still gives enough firmness for my husband and it feels like the bed is hugging you just a little bit. We ended up getting these for more of our beds because of how amazing they are and ended up having an extra one and put it in our old little camper and now when we go camping, we actually can get some good sleep, yay! Very happy with the purchase. Based on the price I was hesitant to buy & didn't expect much. Pleasantly surprised. Bought a hybrid mattress but wanted more memory foam and this has provided it. Actually sleeping much better. It has just enough firmness to provide support for my side and back sleeping but still feels soft. I added after allowing a day for expansion and did not notice any odor. Have had used it for a couple months so definitely recommend. Read more

For context, I'm a very short and thin middle-aged woman, and my husband is short and of medium build. I've been a side sleeper my whole life, but...well, read on. I bought this cuz my new mattress is too firm and I was waking up with hip, shoulder, and neck pain every morning. I had tried several different pillows with no real improvement before finally deciding to try a memory foam topper. Bought the 3" one and kinda tossed and turned a bit the first night, woke up flat on my back with no pillow, but ultimately slept great and woke up feeling wonderful! Same thing next night; got cozied up in my fetal ball with my pillow, woke up flat on my back and pillowless. After a few nights of that, I decided to try ditching the pillow and just starting on my back to begin with, and...yeah! This little topper offers perfect support for back sleeping sans pillow.
