I've happily owned several of this Kahuna style of Maui Jim's for 20 years. They are sooo comfortable on my face, thin clear polarized glass lenses, solid durable frame that doesn't warp or bend, arms don't tweak or loosen and their classic rectangular look never goes out of style. I'm hard on sunglasses, but even my older ones look and feel brand new. If you need prescription lenses you can take these glasses to your optometrist and have your specialized lenses installed. The glasses come with a really large, sturdy, hard two piece protective case. I love Maui Jim sunglasses so much that I even convinced my 84 y/o mother into buying a pair in a different style. She said they were the best and most comfortable sunglasses she's ever owned. The current price, here on Amazon 3/2023, of $319 is the same price offered on the Maui Jim website. Maui Jim doesn't allow other companies to discount their products, so you won't find them anywhere selling for less. These sunglasses are expensive, but worth every penny because their outstanding quality will serve you for years. I LOVE these sunglasses !!!! Read more

I was given a pair of these classic Maui Jim's years ago, and they finally gave up the ghost. But the new ones are just as stylie and have that nice feel and clarity of real glass lenses. I sent my old tired cracked pair to MJ for "repair" and they came back like new, so now I have a pair for each vehicle! Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Read more

I'm an optician and spend all day working with lenses. I have no financial interest in Maui Jim, but I have sold their products in the past. Although I'm in the business, where I work now we don't have access to Maui Jim. I could have had several other types of sunglasses for free, but I actually paid retail for these glasses instead. Maui Jim's are just that good. I love the glass lenses, the polarization is great, and the anti-reflective coating is high quality. Glass is heavy and can potentially break, but I do like the quality optics and superior scratch resistance it provides. Overall these sunglasses are pretty heavy but they feel substantial and can be adjusted to fit just right. These sunglasses are expensive but worth it. I tend keep sunglasses for years so I splurged on these. Read more

I own it for more than 6 months now, use it almost daily. It feel really sturdy, the frame doesn't seem to have warped in any way, the joints are still firm. The lenses are very dark, sometimes darker than I would like (specially by sunset, its a bit uncomfortable to drive). No distortions whatsoever. I have managed to drop it several times already, and I got a few dots on the lenses in one of these events, but I'd say the lenses are sturdy as well. My only con is that it is a bit pricy. Read more

Bought as a gift for my father. Still the same good quality I've seen over the years as he's had a few pairs. Lenses are nice and dark and I'm certain he will be overjoyed to have a return to his old reliable sunnies. Read more

Very stylish, good qualities, very well made, exceptional polarizing capabilities, very expensive appearance. I just replaced my previous pair of Maui Jims exact same style of which I owned with no problems for nearly 20 yrs do to my own fault! If this new pair last as long chances are they'll be burying me in them...LOL In other words BUY A PAIR pricey yes but WHICH other brand (if you take care of them) will last 20 yrs + Read more

This is my second pair of Kahuna Sunglasses. My first pair were lost many years ago. I replaced them with a lovely Big Island (titanium frame) that was similar. I have pretty much decided Maui Jim and I are friends for life. The glass is stellar, the color enrichment outdoors and while driving is premium. The foldable case is still questionable, but I do like it as I can put it in a pocket and not have a large bulge, which is why I didn't lug around my old cases. I'm more likely to use this case when out and about. Read more

I am a Maui Jim die-heart. After I tried my first Maui Jim sunglasses about 10 years ago, I can't wear any other brand. The technology that is used on all Maui Jims is second to none. Crystal clear, none reflective image that you get looking through any of their models is absolutely breathtaking. This particular model is no exception. Kahuna model offers steel frame as well as glass lenses, which provide even clearer image quality as oppose to the polycarbonate lenses. In fact, from my experience, majority of Maui Jim sunglasses come in the polycarbonate lenses. So finding a new style with glass lenses is certainly a nice treat. Kahuna became one of my favorite sunglasses and I own a few different pairs of Maui Jims. You can't go wrong with these, they are simply the best. Furthermore, their customer service is amazing, especially if you get to visit them at their headquarters in Maui, HI. Mahalo Maui Jim for another great product. Read more
