Maui Rippers Womens Plus Size Bathing Suit Swim Shorts Boardshorts

No matter what your size, if you prefer shorts, these are great!! Shorts are for everyone!!! YEAH!!! LOVE THESE SWIM SHORTS! And love this company for offering shorts for all sizes!! These shorts are everything I wanted and expected from swimwear and more really! I do not normally purchase clothing that is not fulfilled by Amazon but I took a chance with this company and am soooo glad! These shorts are exactly the fit and feel I have been trying to find. They flex when I move but do not stretch out even after full day of wear. They are thin but not flimsy or see through. The waist has elastic on the back half and a velcro closure with modesty panel in front at opening as well as the traditional trunks string tie. The elastic is wide band so it doesn't dig in and also keeps the shorts in place when bending and sitting. There is one pocket at good location on side of right leg. When seated, items in pocket do not dig into hip. I think if you are lying on board, the pocket is far enough to the right to keep a key from digging in as well. The velcro on pocket is strong enough to keep it closed but easy to access pocket with good tug away from leg. Sewn inside top of pocket is elastic cording loop that is nice length to loop through key and keep in pocket but can be stretched enough to unlock locker/door at waist height without removing. The reinforced drain hole in pocket keeps it from filling up with water/sand . I am 5'7" and the shorts are just above my knee. When sitting they move up about 3" and are not constricting nor gaping. When I stand again, the legs always drop back into position and DO NOT do the infamous inner thigh ride-up when I am walking. Because they fit so well, I feel comfortable and confident when wearing these! I am not distracted and self-conscious worrying about shorts. In hot, humid summer, I started wearing as everyday shorts as well since they are much cooler and more flexible than any other shorts I own. The only down side is the fabric is not the quietest when walking. Its like the windbreaker material rustling sound but I find that I don't notice it most of the time. And even with that, I still feel like they deserve 5 stars. So now I am ordering three more! UPDATE: I have received 3 more colors (pink not available in my size) and all fit relatively the same. I would say that the light blue color is the most see through so it will probably wear out soonest with sun, water, and wear. I personally prefer unlined board shorts. If I am wearing any as swim trunks, I wear a swim suit or bikini bottom with them. The larger sizes are available but with limited colors(total=5 solids). I hope they will consider adding all of the colors and patterns that are available to sizes 0-18. If they were available, I would buy more. Read more

Followed the advice by sizing up to a 4X because of reviews. However, I noticed those who said they ran small, ordered the Black. I ordered the Navy and found the waist to be too large, but still doable, because my larger hips could hold them up. For reference, I wear a 3X, size 24 pants, I am 48 inches in natural waist, 58 inches in the hips, I weigh 265 lbs. I'll have my friend, who's a bit larger, and shaped differently than me, try them on. If they fit, and she likes them, I will gift them to her. Then I'll order them in a 3XL for myself! I still had extra room in the behind and abdomen, and I love the ample room for my large thighs. They are thin, light, and comfortable for everyday wear on a hot day, as well as the beach. If I order the 3X, I will leave another review with my measurements to let other ladies know what to expected for a proper fit. Overall I think these swim shorts are a great value for the product. I feel I've ordered the wrong size. If they don't fit my friend then I'm still going to keep them and use them. As a plus size girl, I know it's hard to get portions correct and still feel beautiful. There are so many different body shapes to accommodate. They will get there use this summer either way. UPDATE!!! The 3X fits excellent! Okay, I am 5'2". I have a 52 inch waist. I'm not proud of it but you need this info to know that the 4X shorts fit me perfectly. They have elastic around the back and a working draw string in front. The fly area has a black panel sewn in so if it were to open nothing is exposed. They are modest in the water and good to wear as regular shorts. The hit me right at the knee cap. Great length for a 58 year old lady. I got the aqua blue and it matches a casual top I own so well that I wear these during the day and to the pool. They are light weight but solid fabric. They wash up great. They fold down to nothing if you were packing a suitcase. Love, love, love! If I could afford it I would get a pair in every color! Read more

In general, these seem like comfy board shorts. As a plus size 28 who carries most of my weight in my midsection, the fit on the 4x was good and slightly roomy. I'd be a bit worried to be in ocean surf with these wet, as I couldn't really tighten them much. The legs came to my knees, which was a good length. This might be great depending on your body, but for me, the legs on these shorts were wildly voluminous. I could easily fit both legs in one of the shorts legs, which isn't comfortable or flattering for me. I had to return them because the legs just didn't work for me. Read more

I’ve been self-conscious of my legs and stomach at the beach/pool my entire life and finding long board shorts that fit and are actually comfortable has been a huge challenge. These shorts are amazing. Super lightweight and cool but not clingy, and the fabric is stretchy so they don’t dig in when you sit in your beach chair. Plus they come down to my knee, so it covers all the lumpy bits I hate. So nice, I immediately bought a second pair in a different color. I’m even considering wearing them off the beach as well.
