I already knew about Maxpedition's level of quality, so when I went looking for a radio holster and found this on Amazon, I liked the sound of it right away. Turns out I was right. This holster is a masterpiece of adjustability. It really can be strapped all the way down to hold your phone, or extended to securely custom-fit the monster handheld service radio I now carry. It may take a few seconds to figure out how to loosen and extend the different straps so you can dial in the fit, but it's not so hard that you actually have to read directions. The bungee loop safety-strap that extends over the top of your device and then clips into a buckle on the front, is also widely adjustable for length, and will fit around your antenna. Top quality materials and workmanship you expect from Maxpedition. Lightweight but durable. Very happy with this purchase. Read more
I hike a lot and found this excellent pouch. It's very adjustable and rugged. At first, I used it with the clip off of my radio. After a few months, I decided to put the clip back on the radio, let out some slack on the strap, and it still works great. I don't think it can get much bigger, as I am out of velcro. But for this radio, it's a perfect fit. I have a Diamond RHF40 BNC antenna for my radio that flexes and can tuck into the side of the velcro strap. I've had a lot of questions from other hams about where I got this pouch and what model antenna that I use. Read more

I own several pieces of Maxpedition gear. The CP-L gets four solid stars in my book but like the other Max kit I own, seems slightly over-engineered and while it provides molle compatibility, it overlooks certain features that would make it a five star piece of gear. I use this holder/holster to carry a large Android phone that is attached horizontally to the hip belt of a military-issue, weapon carrying pack, support side. The CP-L does this very well. The major short fall is that when carried in this fashion (support side - left), the velcro fasteners face up, meaning, that if I were to get into a hands-on situation with someone and I were to sweep my hands downward to break contact with a potential assailant, the sweeping-down motion of my hands would potentially aid in pushing the CP-L off of my hip belt and onto the ground if my hands made contact with the CP-L. The CP-L is only connected to my waist belt by two, narrow, velcro connectors. Those of you in law enforcement may identify with this when reversing the keepers on a gun belt to keep the belt retained in a hands-on encounter. This is very specific to people in the security/LE sector and becomes a non-issue if carried vertically, mollied onto a panel, vest, or if you're "just" a day hiker looking for a good pouch to carry a GPS, phone, etc. With that out of the way, the CP-L, like the majority of my Max gear, is of very high quality, aesthetically pleasing, mounts vertically or horizontally to a belt, LBV, shoulder strap, etc., and the way this carrier opens up and expands, can likely accommodate ANY smart phone on the market along with an armored case i.e. Otterbox, Sprigen, etc. This was a major factor in why I purchased the CP-L as there are very few molleable phone holsters out right now (autumn 2018) that can fit the newest generation smart phones with >6.0" screens in addition to armored smart phone covers. The CP-L will gobble all of them up. I highly recommend this item and believe my particular reservation will be limited to a very select group of people with demanding needs in the security sector. In any event, buy with confidence, it's a Maxpedition and should provide years of good service. Oh yeah... it's not made in China. Huge plus. Read more
Excellent rugged material as usual from Maxpedition. The design and look of the product is tough and military. I use it with my Yaesu VX-8DR HT and it fits perfectly. A big problem with many cases is that closing the cover interferes with the antenna and MH-74 speaker microphone cable on top of the unit. This CP-L case employs cords which conveniently strap on over the top of the HT and secures it firmly in place. It also provides maximum visibility of the unit without having to remove the HT from the case to view the readings. Another feature which made this case an easy decision is the snap on buckle at the front. It allows quiet operation when unlocking the case cover. Many cases use a velcro attachment to close the case. A velcro mechanism makes a loud sound when un-fastening the cover. Depending on your job or application, this can be a significant liability. Totally satisfied with the features, durability, and look of this product. Read more

Excellent radio holster and very high quality. I've used maxpedition gear for years, and this will last near forever! It's adjustable, so it fits a wide variety of radios and GPS units. Fits my Baofeng and Yaesu radios, and my Garmin 60CSX. Has molle attachments and fits on my backpack strap or belt. Overall, an excellent product! Read more
This radio holder is seriously stout and wildly adjustable. This is NOT a low profile piece and is designed for open carry, unless you like looking lumpy. Attached to my Hazard 4 slingpack with the molle attachments, this holder is awesome. Read more
