Great value for the money! Installed in a 2022 JL that is not amplified. Huge improvement over the mini speakers that came factory. Removing the plastic part that holds the overhead light was the least enjoyable part. Just follow the template and you will be fine. Super simple with a dremel. I did use some cheap poly-fil and now I actually have some bass. The speakers are not bright and since they are next to your head go for the matching mb quart for the upper dash to round out the sound. However an Amp would really bring them to life. Read more

Replaced stock head unit (5") with Insane Audio head unit, swapped out the stock 3.5" dash speakers and changed sound bar speakers to 6.5" (Infinity Reference). Added a Alpine PWE 8" compact sub behind the seat. The Alpine sub filled the mid bass in nicely, but I just wasn't happy with the lows. Decided to take a chance on the MB Quart sub and ditch the Alpine. The custom box fits perfectly and looks like factory. You have to remove the under seat storage tray and the sub uses the trays mounting points (doesn't interfere with jack or bolt holder box). The box is a heavy plastic and has some sound dampening material in it. The amp is very compact and I mounted it right behind the box. It also comes with a remote volume knob. Sound quality is very good. Granted, I am not a young kid who listens to obnoxious amounts of bass and wants to rattle my truck apart and annoy everyone. But, this thing is 10x better than the compact subs and the (2) 8" provide a really nice amount of accurate base. I've heard the Alpine factory sub, and this is worlds better. I am using dedicated sub RCA pre-outs from the head unit, so not sure how the high level inputs would work. For $599, this is a really good deal (less than half of JL unit). This product is no as advertised, if you are looking for a plug and play for your Jeep this will Not be a good option for you. This is missing pretty much EVERYTHING needed to work for your Jeep truck. Be sure if you want to use this item that you make sure you are ready to buy about $400 plus dollars more to make this work for your Jeep, it’s missing ALL wiring needed to hook to your factory system and is a separate product line you will need to purchase, further once installed it will need to be flashed by Chrysler to make the system even compatible with your Jeep gladiator. The purpose of buying this was it said it was simply plug and play but that’s is not at all what this is. This is a mer component or piece but certainly is not even close to a system that will work in a Jeep product line. Please be aware when buying: you will need multiple wiring kits to make it to your factory stereo, you will need interface, you will need it programmed from Chrysler and you will need amp wiring kit for this product line. So be prepared to spend about $1500 to make this speaker kit even work for your gladiator. Read more

Edit: I'd continued to be underwhelmed by these speakers, particularly in the area of decent bass, when I'd discovered Mike's review, here. In short, neither plug from the bar gives you full signal: You either can use the MBQ connection which cuts lows substantially, or you use the other plug which only passes lows, and extremely limited output lows, at that. Because, you know, that signal originally went to a 4"... "woofer". LOL So while I'm somehow even less impressed with Jeep's audio system now, MB Quart is now off my list of manufacturers to purchase from. These and the fronts they offer are marketed as versions "tuned" to the JL Wrangler, but in fact they are actually just units they already manufactured that fit in those spaces(and you have to cut to put the 6x9's in. "Upgrading" to 6x9's in the bar is pointless when the bass is cut out of the signal; you'd be better off just finding good 3.5's and 4.0's to use the stock holes. In short, they are full of crap. Original Review: I bought all 3 pairs that are "tuned for this vehicle". They do sound better, but the soundbar speakers over power the 2 pairs of fronts; you have to pull the fader 2+ clicks toward the front to balance them out. Without new amps/dsp, this doesn't seem to be a great investment for the improvement you get. And if you do plan to go full upgrade, Jeep tries to poke you in the eye there, too, killing speaker output that doesn't match the speaker resistance it expects. Read more

I purchased the box with amp and honestly it’s sound like 2 cheap 8” subs. The amp sucks it’s way under powered especially set to 0db. I switched mine to 12db and line all pods at at 3 o’clock. I plan to order 2 new Sundown 8” subs with 1k amp. I recommend Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10 Single 10" 500-Watt Amplified Truck Sealed Box Subwoofer it fits and sounds way better for half the price. Read more

What they don't tell you until you look it up online is that they have wired this system to plug and play with the stock systems TWEETER. They originally had it wired to the stock full range speaker but because of the stock systems use of resistors and diodes to send only certain signals to certain speakers,by tapping into the larger of the two stock speakers in the sound bar the new mb quarts speakers were getting too much bass and not enough highs so they changed it so that they now only get highs. They sound like complete crap, you didn't do anything wrong... It's the way they decided to solve a problem. Take the time to cut the plugs and wire to the larger speaker and it will sound 100% better!!! Read more
