I really like this board for the kids (ages 6 years and almost 2 years). They have a lot of fun with it and the surface dries fairly white after it's been used. They have gotten hours of fun on road trips using it. The ONLY downside that I've found is when the pen is taken out of the cap, the water pen can be thrown down and lost (we have had multiple episodes of throw-downs in the car...). I wish the pen was also attached to the cap in some way, or attached to the board. The cap can be attached to the main toy with a plastic strip which is awesome (the toy comes with the strip), but if the water pen gets lost... game over. I had high hopes for the Melissa & Doug Water WOW travel water art kit, but it was a bit of a letdown. While the idea is great for mess-free coloring on the go, the execution could definitely use some improvement. The included water pen comes with a plastic tether, which is a nice thought, but it’s stiff and makes it tricky for my toddler to maneuver. The pen itself also doesn’t release water easily. The colors that reveal with water are pretty dull and not as vibrant as we expected. On the plus side, the little stamps included are cute and add some variety, but overall, the kit just isn’t as toddler-friendly as I think it could be.
