Yes you can find #4 filters less expensive...and I tried them...and frankly on more than a couple of occasions they failed and I was left with a mess to clean up. I tossed them and bought these at the higher price. The old saying for me at least on this product: 'You get what you pay for'. These filters are VERY strong, very tough, people don’t know this. You put coffee in, it does the job, no leaks, no problems, better than the so-called “fancy” ones. I even tried pouring a little Diet Coke through one just to see, because you never know, maybe you get a new idea, maybe you get Covfefe. Didn’t work. Just sat there looking sad. For COFFEE? These are great filters. We switched from the plastic k-cups to a brewing coffee pot, and these filters are a godsend. The coffee maker has a mesh screen filter, but cleaning it was a chore, plus the grounds clogged up our sink a few times, just from rinsing the filter out. Now we just toss the whole thing in the trash. And they are biodegradable, so I feel a bit better about tossing out the filter. We have had absolutely no issues with them leaking, breaking, or preventing the water from flowing through them. The price is good, and we stocked up. We have enough for a year! Read more
