This eucalyptus shaving cream has a nice scent. Not overpowering, but a nice cool scent that seems just right for shaving cream. You don't need a lot of the shaving cream to get a good lather, and I was able to get a close shave with (what I felt) was a reasonably small amount. This makes me feel like this tube will last quite a while. I like that this shaving cream had a cooling sensation, which immediately made me think of menthol, and I noticed that it did not make my skin feel dry or tight after use. This shaving cream lathers quite well and provides a nice smooth shave. Just like with other shave soaps, there's an art to adding just the right amount of water to create a nice thick foam. The eucalyptus is cool and refreshing. It's not subtle at all and it's enough to clear my sinuses. I like eucalyptus but I think it's just a bit too much here. It's not enough to fill the entire room, but I think I'd like it better if it were cut in half or maybe even down to a quarter of what it is. I'm giving it 4 stars because it does what it's supposed to do in that it shaves well and it smells like eucalyptus. Mens Eucalyptus Shaving Cream This is a great FULL SIZE shaving foam product. Six ounces doesn't seem like that much, but there is a LOT here. It doesn't smell so much like eucalyptus to me, but it it smells more like the juniper berry scent that is in it. I love that this is phthalate and paraben free, made with natural oils, and made in the USA. Wins all the way around. Make sure to shake well if not using every day or the oils separate a bit. This shaving cream felt great on the skin and gave a smooth, irritation-free shave. Even though it didn't lather up very much the texture is nice and I didn't get any razor burn or dryness afterward. The scent is very strong and distinctly eucalyptus, but to my surprise neither eucalyptus nor menthol is actually listed as an ingredient. That makes me think the eucalyptus note is coming from the generic “fragrance” ingredient. I don't even want to think about where the cool, refreshing menthol-y feeling is coming from. A couple of the ingredients used here are ones I’ve seen in cleaning or industrial products, so I'm a bit skeptical about the claim of no harm chemicals. I’m not a chemist, so I can’t say whether they’re actually problematic in this context, but it didn’t match what I expected from a product positioned as natural or gentle. It’s reassuring that it’s made in the U.S.A, and it does have that small-batch, thoughtfully formulated vibe. I just wish the ingredient list reflected more of the natural, eucalyptus-based story the branding suggests. For the price, I would have liked more transparency and fewer mystery chemicals, even though the shaving performance itself was good. Read more
