I'll start out by admitting I'm (5'9"/175 lbs) in kind of a weird, in-between area with pants where most of the time I wear a 36" waist but also sometimes those get a bit snug depending on the brand. This time around, I figured I'd give a little extra buffer and go with the 38" to be on the safe side and, apparently, that was a mistake. As a sanity check, I just measured my waist and am, in fact, at 37.75". However, without a belt these things won't make it 2 steps before they're at my knees. As you can see in the photo, they have a LOT of extra room with all the folds the belt is adding in there. Naturally, the one time I size up and it's way too much. Now, what's interesting - and take this with a grain of salt as I am NOT a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination - is that despite the inseam being 30" on the button, the overall length being 41", and both of those numbers matching a pair of 36" pants I have, this pair is seemingly much too big in all respects but this 36" pair fits me just fine. Does the extra waist help lift the pants and I just need to eat more pizza? The material seems like decent enough quality, especially at the $20 price point. It's relatively lightweight without being too thin. A cold breeze is going to go right through them though. The fabric itself is also quite stretchy whereas the waistband has relatively little give to it. Also, the material seems to wrinkle VERY easily. I hung it in the closet pretty darn flat and it still came out like they had been laying in a pile on the floor all week. If you get them nice and smooth though and they fit your body, they do actually look pretty solid. Overall, for $20, I can't REALLY complain (though I also can't swap them out for the size I actually need - a downside of being a Vine acquisition). However, with the wrinkle aspect and the fact that they seem to just be really too large makes it so they're not really an optimal fit for me. I ordered a 30Wx30L in Black for my son who wears pants like this every week for competitive sporting events like bowling where he is required to wear a nicer pair of pants. Unfortunately, a size 40 was shipped and received. Because of the wrong size, I had them altered because my son really likes how comfortable and lightweight they are. They have pockets and are so flexible, so they move well when he bowls and they don't hinder him like some other brands that have a stiffer feel. They wash well, making them easy to pack without wrinkling and travel for out-of-town tournaments. I like the look of them - very classy and professional. Since he really likes them, we will probably order other colors. I think this is a great pair of pants offered at an exceptional price compared to similar pants from other retailers. Read more
