I've been looking for a black button-down for a couple of weeks. When this one showed up I decided to take a chance on it. If you take a look at the product page, it becomes fairly obvious that this shirt is a little on the "fitted" side of things. So I decided to order one size up. When the shirt arrived I was happy with it .. for the most part. So, the shirt is tapered some in the waist - "fitted". If you're an athletic build, you'll probably appreciate the slimming look. I'm an ex-football player and weight lifter so I need a shirt larger across the shoulders and chest, hence one size up. I'm 6'2" - 265. Normally a 2X, but this one is a 3X. If you're a little "rounder" instead of slim you might want to consider one size up like I did. Otherwise, the shirt seems true to size. I normally wear a 35 sleeve and this one seems a little longer, which was expected because it's one size bigger. The neck size buttons closely, but it's fine, around 16 1/2 - 17. I would prefer a little more length in the "tails".; They seem just a tad on the short side. I like the fabric. It has a little 'give' to it. I hesitate to say "stretch", but it does give a little... another good point (The tag says 8% ELASTANE..). The care instructions are a little odd. (SEE IMAGES). The 'hang tag' says one thing, the 'sew-in' says something different. Also the instructions specify actual temps for washing and ironing in degrees C. I don't know anyone who measures those things, so it's almost worthless to me. Neither my washer nor my steam iron allows me to dial in a temperature in degrees. I converted to Fahrenheit and they're on the cool side, so I'll just use a best guess and stay "cool". I haven't washed this yet, so I don't know how badly it wrinkles, but the care tag says NO DRY CLEAN, so it's going to end up in the washer for certain. Buttons are fairly small. Collar stays are non-existent. There MAY be some interfacing (iron-in) in the collar and the front facings. We'll see if there is much "curl" after washing. Overall -- I like the shirt. It fits good and the fabric is nice. I'm not enthralled with the care instructions, nor the idea of ironing this shirt -- we'll see. If you're athletic and like close fitting garments, you'll probably like this shirt. Buy your normal size. If you typically like a looser fit, you'll probably need one size up... The price-point is reasonable, so a decent value. Read more
