I got these for my teen, who wears the same size I do and is constantly borrowing my Doc Martens. Now they finally have their own pair that are similar! I’ll admit, I borrowed them (Mom tax), and they’re just as comfortable and versatile as my old DMs and it’s so unfair they don’t have to break them in because these are soft and comfortable and ready to wear from the get-go. Now I want them for myself, haha! Best thing? My kid is super happy with them. Platform Oxfords are such a classic, and they go with absolutely everything. Because of the conflict conversion between make and female sizes, I picked these up in a European size, and for anyone else cross-shopping between men’s and women’s sizing: going 1.5–2 sizes down usually works, but it’s much easier to go by EU sizing. I’m a 39 EU (women’s 7.5 / men’s 6), and that conversion was spot on and always works. But having said. The rounded toe is comfortable and flattering, and the chunky sole gives them that timeless vibe without the break-in battle. They go with everything from jeans, slacks, suits, dresses, baggy pants… whatever the era, they just fit. I absolutely love these shoes! The style is exactly what I was looking for! That chunky lug sole gives such a cool throwback 90s vibe while still feeling modern. Totally takes me back to high school. I did some digging to figure out the men’s to women’s size conversion since I’m a women’s 9 (which would be a men’s 7.5), and I decided to size up since there were no half sizes. They ended up a little loose on me, but nothing that a pair of thicker socks can’t fix. Once I put those on, they feel great and comfortable for walking or daily wear. And I felt taller! Love those chunky soles! The sole is sturdy and non-slip, and the shoes looks as good in person as they do in the post. Not cheap or flimsy. The shoes feel properly sized and feel comfortable initially. There was something rubbing, but taking them off and putting them back on again seemed to resolve it. They are better looking in person than in the image. The quality seems decent, though you could see the inner sole past the insole in one of my images. They feel like they would be decent foot protection, but they have a very strong odor that I can only hope goes away. If I were to wear them in the car it is strong enough that it would likely give me a headache. My wife forbade me wearing these around her as much because of the style as the smell. The pictures on the listing don't do it justice. The shoes are pretty comfortable and the style is something that I have been wanting for a very long time. The souls of the show are actual rubber and grip the pavement quite well and just look amazing. Well worth it and very stylish. My only one wish, is that I would of gotten this a size bigger. These were 12's and I should of gotten a 13. For me that all depends on the style of the shoe. Read more
