I bought these for my husband and the size large fits him exactly as expected at 6'2" and 230 lbs. He says they are very comfortable and flexible, even during long days of movement. So first impressions about these shorts are that everything is really light. From the actual weight to the thinness of the material. Fit-wise these are tighter-fitting shorts. I personally prefer baggier shorts for daily wear but these are more fit for specialized athletic performance. As such I would say these definitely get the job done. I did a workout in these shorts and quickly noticed that nothing gets in your way and everything stays pretty tight to form. I also appreciate the pockets, I had no issues holding my critical things in there while I was working out. As far as the softness and the comfort of these shorts, I would prefer my baggier shorts in this regard. These shorts are specifically made for athletics and everything else feels secondary. These shorts aren't particularly soft or stretchy and comfort is an afterthought. For the money I would say that this is a decent buy if you need a good pair of workout shorts. Ok, so I'm a guy that has worn long basketball shorts for decades and made fun of guys wearing short shorts for a long time but hear me out. First of all, the basketball shorts made me look like a dork...My wife finally had the courage to tell me and although it stung a little, she was right and I needed to hear it. These and similar styled shorts look WAY better. I'm pretty muscular and honestly kinda like the way it shows off my thighs a little bit. They aren't booty shorts, but they look great. They are also crazy comfortable. The thing I started to hate about my basketball shorts was that my phone and wallet would just flop around in the shorts because the shorts were so long and baggy. That problem is gone and I'm never going back to the dorky long shorts. Color is true to image, the material is thin but not cheap. These will probably hold up in the wash much better than the thick fabric basketball shorts that would always loose elasticity after a year or 2. I imagine these ill last a long time. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the sizing is a bit off. I've always been an off-the-rack Medium ... I can wear anything in a medium, from T-shirts to shorts. I'm 5'10" and 165 pounds, and I've stayed about the same size my entire adult life. These shorts mostly fit my waist (I'm normally a 31" or 32" in pants), but they're tight across my rear. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to the fit of clothes, but when I look in the mirror in these shorts it's obvious they're just too small. The fabric is stretched tight and it's not a good look. For this price, I didn't expect them to match the quality of my exercise shorts from the better companies, but they're more simply made that I had hoped. They don't have a lining. But again, if they fit I'd be willing to accept them as a cheap extra pair of shorts and I didn't have to spend fifty bucks for them. I'm hoping they fit my son who is slightly smaller than me, but he also has the family's "runner's butt", so they may be too tight on him as well. Too bad. I'm typically a Men's medium when I wear athletic shorts, but sometimes I'll bump up to a large for extra room to hold a few tennis or pickleballs when I wear them for sports. These shorts, despite being really nice looking and made very well, are astonishingly small. They are nowhere near a men's large and are not even a men's medium. I ordered the large size along with their size chart, and these might possibly be a men's small, but they are most certainly not a large.
