I'm actually surprised by the sizing on this pair of jeans. According to the listing, a size L is recommended for people with waist sizes up to 35.8 inches, and XL is recommended for people with waist sizes up to 39 inches. But it's a Chinese-made product, and those tend to skew toward smaller average bodies. So I went ahead and ordered this in XL, only to discover when it arrived that it's true to size for this region. I'm actually giving it five stars for that reason, despite being disappointed in the size, because that was only due to my second guessing. The amount of stretch in these is amazing - I wear all black, so-called "concert black," when playing with my band on stage, and most of the black pants I own are either dress slacks or jeans that don't move with me. The stages I perform on are always small, cramped, and crowded, and I really just want a nice pair of stretchy jeans for when I'm stepping over gear or ducking under something backstage. To that end, even if this pair is loose around my waist, it'll work well enough with a belt. The fabric, on top of being incredibly stretchy, is also comfortable on the skin. The slightly distressed look isn't too ostentatious, it just looks like a pair of jeans I've had for a while rather than something brand new. Overall, I'd recommend this to a friend.
