Lovely, sleeveless, 100% cotton dress in 8 great colors! The wine red is very pretty, & the fabric is a great weight, light enough for warm or hot weather, but not so light as to feel thin or cheap. It is light, but even the maxi hem length doesn't make it feel heavy. Rather, it feels quite airy, but not flimsy at all. The bodice is lightly lined, the skirt is not. I got this in a size Medium for my daughter-in-law for her trip to the Philippines in December. The fit is true to size; the sizing chart is detailed enough to make comparing measurements easy to order the right size. The darker shade will work well w/slip pants, or even shorts under it for modesty, but it may be ok without them; the lighter shades will likely need slip pants, or a slip to prevent show-through. The fabric has different weaves which add interest & light texture: there are woven lines, & various other patterns that add visual interest. The product page photo is very representative of these woven designs, easily seen in the 3-tiers of the skirt. I like the look of the sewn-in "belt" that isn't too tight or too loose, and the slightly high-waisted placement gives definition & curves to the design. The sleeveless armholes are big enough to be comfy, but small enough to cover anatomy without offering "peeps". The V-neck is defined by vertical trim, w/gathers at the collar that adds style to the piece without dipping too deeply at the neck, and allows space to show a necklace. But the sweep & swish of the skirt feels great, and is not in the way at all. The pockets are roomy, & a great feature that is often overlooked in dresses. It is well-sewn, & the cotton fabric demands cold-water washing & air drying, or a low dryer setting. The dress feels casual, but also has a rather dressy look that can be played up or down by shoes & accessories. Wear it for walking around, or to a special occasion as it somehow looks both casual & dressy. The directions advise machine washing in a garment bag, or washing by hand. A wringer machine could likely damage the fabric unless protected within a mesh bag. I do think it is higher priced than it should be, higher than similar cotton dresses on Amazon, especially since the fabric is not pre-shrunk. But it is so pretty, comfortable, well-made & versatile that buying it will not make you feel guilty for paying the price. It is a flattering design for a wide size & age span. I don’t know who at MEROKEETY decided to create this dress, but I’d like to personally thank them for blessing my closet with what can only be described as “effortless vacation goddess energy.” This dress is doing more for my self-esteem than my entire 2024 vision board. First of all, the V-neck: perfectly deep enough to make me feel cute and summery, but not so deep that I’m one strong breeze away from filing a public indecency apology. Then there’s the tiered flowy silhouette, which is basically fabric magic. It skims, it swishes, it forgives every questionable snack choice I’ve ever made. I twirled once in my hallway and briefly understood what it feels like to be the main character. And can we talk about the pockets? REAL pockets. Big enough for my phone, my keys, my hopes, my dreams, and probably half a granola bar if I’m honest. I could smuggle an entire vacation’s worth of random essentials in these pockets and still look charmingly boho instead of suspiciously bulky. The fabric is lightweight and breezy—like it was engineered specifically so I could pretend I’m strolling barefoot through a sun-soaked market even though I’m actually at Target on a Tuesday. Sleeveless? Yes. Comfortable? Absolutely. Basically wrinkle-proof? I’m not saying it is, but mine definitely survived being “stored” (read: crumpled) on a chair for two days and came out looking fresher than I did. Overall, this dress is peak “I tried without actually trying.” It’s cute, comfy, forgiving, and ready for anything—from beach vacations to patio brunch to that one “casual but not too casual” baby shower. If you’re debating it, just get it. You’ll feel like a boho queen who runs on sunshine and iced coffee. Read more
Very, very flattering overall, especially from the front. I look 5-10 lbs lighter in this dress. The color is also an even more beautiful blue than in the picture. And it arrived without any wrinkles, to my pleasant surprise. It is actually smocked as advertised as well, which is somewhat rare for women's dresses. This helps smooth things for those of us who appreciate the smoothing effect. The dress design/ print is also very, very detailed. The vertical lines throughout much of it that are sewn into the fabric help with offering a slimming effect. Still, it is a little puffy in the back, but this is the style of the dress. It is nothing a cardigan or blazer cannot fix if you do not like the puff in the back. Personally, the puff is not my favorite, but many people would not mind this. I got this dress for my mom to take on vacation, and I have to say it exceeded expectations! The color is such a beautiful deep navy blue, and the fabric has a really nice texture and flow to it. One of my fav things about this dress is that it has pockets, and they’re done right. You can slip your phone or small essentials in without it bulging or ruining the silhouette. It’s perfect for events when you don’t want to carry a bag but still need somewhere to tuck a few things. The fit is very flattering, this dress makes you look lighter and more put together without trying too hard. It’s elegant while still being breathable and comfortable, so it works for anything from casual outings to more dressed-up moments.
