The Emergency Room sent me home with a sling after I broke my shoulder, with stern warnings to keep the shoulder still. That sling was loose -- at least one size too big -- and there was no way to get in and out of it myself. So I looked for alternatives. I ended up with a somewhat expensive sling for everyday use. I needed something that would hold everything as still as possible, and protect me from bumps. (For the first two weeks after my injury, going over a speed bump on neighborhood streets made me screech.) But this inexpensive mesh sling immediately became part of my survival kit. First, it's meant to go into the shower. Air and water can get through the holes, especially if you have a handheld shower head so you can spray under your sweaty armpit. It dries quickly, too. Also, it is far more adjustable than the other slings I used, and you don't need a caregiver to put it on. It's just one strap, and that strap opens up quite a ways. You can slide the strap all the way open, carefully put your arm into the mesh pocket, then duck your head through the strap. Best of all, you can slide it up and down without help. (And I got SO tired of having to ask for help.) This would not be my full-time sling, however. The mesh works great in the shower, but the fabric is a bit too scratchy to wear against the skin all day. I don't think it'd offer enough "keep things still" structure to immobilize the arm as you sleep, either. Still, it's an excellent price for something you need. Read more

Great for after surgery to still get in the pool or go to the beach! Or just for breath ability/ cooling. Had 2 shoulder shoulders at different times and this sling was awesome! Read more

Very good product. Worked in shower and as a short-term back up to my full size immobilizer. The only improvement would be of you could adjust the location of the shoulder padding but not a deal breaker. Read more

This sling is lightweight, breathable, and easy to wear, even for long periods. The mesh design makes it ideal for the shower, and it dries quickly without trapping moisture. I appreciate the adjustable straps, which make it comfortable for both right and left arm injuries. It provides solid support for my shoulder and elbow while still allowing a bit of movement for comfort. Overall, this is a well-designed, practical sling that’s great for anyone recovering from a rotator cuff, elbow, or wrist injury. Read more

Okay for the shower, that's about it. Really large, these are men's sizes in a box with a lady on it. It slides around and doesn't hold you in place. Read more

Percent for use in the shower. I bought this after having rotated cuff surgery and it worked great. I was told by my doctor that i could only take my arm out of the sling to shower but had to keep it by my side. I was so nervous not to have it in a sling and this sling made me feel at ease in the shower knowing my shoulder was protected Read more
