These metal stick hubs feel sturdy by comparison to the pre-installed plastic ones. If you are tough on your controller, you probably already know how quickly the rubberized coating cracks or wears off from the stress. Replacing them does require slightly intermediate skills but can be reasonably accomplished by consulting an online guide or video and not rushing. The main caveat is the tendency for thumbs to slide off of the sticks despite their textured metal grips. This is most apparent with perspiring hands. Purchasing some inexpensive rubber or silicone caps to stretch over the tops solves the issue, and they can easily be replaced if they wear out. I have found these a superior solution to expensive click-on caps, having personally worn out several pairs. Unless you prefer taller sticks or are not comfortable performing the work, I'd go for these. Read more

On the fence whether I should replace the OEM dark purple thumbsticks on my new Chroma Indiga controller with these purple, lighter color, though metal thumbsticks, which I've put in all my controllers and love. Took them out of the box to compare and started to disassemble the dualsense. I love how in certain light the color of the controller shifts from blue to purple and that's where the Avericht Metal Thumbsticks are a perfect match for this controller. Just look at the pictures.. I bought this product because i was looking for a permanent more grippy solution than the rubber Control freaks i buy every few weeks , i though if this is made of metal it will never ware out... The problem is, the spikes are so little they don't provide any grip, it's actually worse than the stock PS ones. Was very disappointed , completely unusable so slippery i could not use them .
