This was so easy to use! I had a favorite pair of shoes that had the heel tip totally worn through to the metal nail. Instead of paying a small fortune to have it replaced at my local shoe shop, I decided to try and do it myself. The kit came with all the necessary tools and a variety of caps in two different colors and sizes. I was able to take off the old cap and replace it just like that! I have some slight arthritis in my wrist, but did not have any difficulty using the tools and putting on a new cap. Saved myself money and feel proud to know that I could handle the problem. Description states that these are 0.1” which is equivalent to 2.54mm. I needed 2mm replacements for my heels and was hopeful these would fit since it is a spring pin that it goes into. They did not fit. When measured with digital calipers these are actually 3mm exactly or 0.12 inches. Seller should edited this listing to reflect the actual size they are selling. Otherwise, they must’ve sent me the wrong kit. I will keep the kit since the quality seems ok. The tool is stiff and not very user friendly with one hand, but it gets them out. Start on the shallow end of bite, wiggling slightly while pulling and work your way to deeper end. Hopefully that makes sense. Helped also to get the rubber off first so you can see where to grab from. Read more

Pliers are completely useless, especially if the heel has broken off. Get you some needle nose pliers to pry it off. The replacements are varying in size and I was easily able to replace with the correct size. Read more
