I like the beach and don't live near one, so I take beach vacations anytime I can afford to. The problem is always the beach towel. I don't really want to bring one with me--I travel carry on only all the time--but I often need them. for awhile, I just bought them when I got where I was going and left them behind, but that seemed kind of wasteful. Plus I couldn't always find them easily. Then I tried the turkish towel type for travel. Ok, I ended up with some absolutely beautiful "towels" incluind one that is so nice it decorates the back of my sofa. They are nice and absorbent, and do work, but....even though they are lighter than a terrycloth cotton towel, they are still heavier than I want. I have some small microfiber bath towels that are great, absorbent and lightweight, and worked ok on a trip to Belize, but it is bath size, not beach sized. So on my last trip to Mexico, I took this. OMG y'all, I know it is ridiculous to be this excited about a towel, but seriously, I love it. It folds down small (it comes in a pretty small package). It's lightweight. It's super absorbent. It's big enough to lay on. Sand does come off it easily (but only when it's dry). I got the tie dye/blue palm towel and really like the pattern. I also didn't mind carrying it when it was damp because it was nice and cooling. and it served me well on a scuba diving trip when my pack got very wet--all the water was absorbed by my towel! It's not as soft as some of the options above, but it performs better and is lighter, so I'm willing to go with that. And I draped it over my shoulders when it was drying and found it perfectly comfortable, and also quite comfortable to lay on. One caution--I live in a very arid climate normally, and I left it outside here one night and the poor thing got kind of dry and crispy feeling, but I got it damp again and it's fine. I absolutely love these towels! I was skeptical of micro fiber towels at first, but now I won’t go back. I use them as bath towels. I actually already had 2 and bought 2 more. They dry so incredibly fast! They wash fine and hang drying is no problem with how quickly they dry. The quality and the beautiful designs are unbeatable., don’t know how practical the fit is for using on the beach because they’re narrow, but I would imagine (but don’t know for sure yet) that sand would come right off of them. These are soft and pretty, I really like the patterns and even the reverse side is cute. They roll up very small and are lightweight and great for packing. However, check the measurements! Don’t be taken in like I was by the photos of the people laying on these. The photos make them look huge, and they are not. They’re barely wide enough to lay down on and have any extra space for other items you’d like to keep off the sand. Also, the main feature of these microfiber towels is that they shed sand easily. I found that to be true when dry, but not so much when wet. They hold less sand than a terry cloth towel, but sand does still stick to them when they’re wet. I also found these towels to be ineffective for drying myself off after getting out of the water. In short, I’ll probably use these from time to time, but imo they’re aren’t the miracle product they claimed to be. Read more

These towels are the PERFECT towel for someone who likes to pack their own towels for vacation. They are so thin and lightweight. They fold into a tiny square and are incredibly easy to pack! They are a nice size and have a hanging loop that is great for hanging to dry. They repel sand and are absorbent enough for me. Note: Some people in the reviews complained about absorbency - if you want a towel that preforms like a super plush towel, this may not be for you. The colors are beautiful and vibrant!
