Stylish and funtional

KindredSpiritAugust 9, 2022

Ordered this pair for myself, but hubby liked them too! I’m in front of the screen a good amount, and wanted to try a pair out to see what the hoopla is about. A few coworkers also have them, and as medical professionals, we try to decrease the strain our eyes as much as possible. I haven’t felt a significant benefit physically yet, but it’s definitely worth a try. I love that these come in no prescription, as well as a few other “reader” grade prescriptions. Read more

MicroVision (by Foster Grant)

ShawnSeptember 6, 2022

This pair didn't mention Foster Grant as another pair from MicroVision did. Not sure why they do or don't add the parent brand. These are definitely high quality and the lenses are top end. They are almost comically big, but they look awesome on me. I think if you have big features on your face, they accent and make you look great. I think if you had a "small" face, it could also look very cute. Not sure about people in the middle. So, yeah, definitely "fashion" oriented, which is always subjective, and otherwise objectively a top shelf product. Very happy with them! Read more

They work okay, but they are definitely not attractive...

OhioAwesomeAugust 9, 2022

I ordered these as I am always misplacing my readers. I assumed that these would be something special at 50USD. Unfortunately, they sit high on my nose and far from my eyes... they look as though I am trying not to look though them as they sit so high. They are also ugly... they remind me of what we called "birth control glasses" as kids. The frames are wide enough for big heads, but I find no advantage when watching TV or using the computer from the "blue blocking". I also do not like the yellow circles I see under my eyes in the mirror when wearing these. As far as readers go, they do work... but there is not any real advantage in look or function that justifies they price. I am rating them three stars since they function as readers. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary... Read more

Vintage 50s Librarian or Accountant Look

Jen S.September 15, 2022

First, let me address how these look and work and then I’ll get into the brand a little. We’ve been shopping for blue light-blocking glasses a bit lately… I foolishly picked up a pair on a whim for one kid and the other felt left out. In terms of blue light blocking, these are about the same as my $20 pair. We tested and played with both. These don’t really impact colors on the screen, which is nice, but for some reason looking out the window with them on is a blinding experience and everything is yellower. So, for blocking, IMO, these are about the same as the $20 pair. If that’s all you need, you can get away with a cheaper pair. BUT, what makes these worth the extra is that they can be purchased with varying degrees of magnification. We didn’t need that, so we have the kind with no magnification, but I could see how it would be beneficial for some and the cheaper glasses did not offer that option. The other thing that makes them probably a bit more valuable is that they’re thick and durable. Is the extra quality worth it to pay more than double the price of the cheap ones? Eh… not when I’m buying for kids who will break and lose them. Not so much for myself either. But, if you’re wearing them all day, especially in an office, I could see shelling out the extra bucks. These are nicer. They’re a bit heavier though. Looks-wise, that’s where we totally messed up. We do like the rounder 60s style frames, but these aren’t that nice oval shape. They’re boxier. Seeing them in person in black, they look more like 1950s style, like you might have seen on an accountant or librarian. I don’t like that look at all and my teen, who loves vintage looks, actually gasped in horror when we opened these. TBH, I wouldn’t wear them around anyone either. You could pull them off if that’s your look, but, man, it is super not ours. So, I did drop these down to four stars, mostly because I think they’re ugly in person (personal preference) and because I can’t justify spending more than $30 on a pair of glasses like these. BUT, if you like the style and need magnification, they’re probably worth the extra. As for the brand… no, I do not think these are Foster Grant, contrary to what other reviewers are saying. Micro Vision Optical appears to be an independent company with no affiliation to any other company. (I scoured their site and found nothing.) Foster Grant carries a line of glasses called MicroReaders. It appears to be their magnifying glasses. Somewhere along the line, it looks like some product descriptions for Foster Grant glasses on Amazon were written incorrectly and included the word MicroVision instead of MicroReader. At least that’s what I saw in my search. I have owned Foster Grant glasses and I think these are probably about equal quality for what it’s worth. These aren’t junky glasses at all… just clarifying on the brand if that matters to some. Read more

Super cute blue light glasses!

Sarah ElizabethAugust 13, 2022

I really love the frame of these blue light glasses, just make sure you're ad the description! They're readers, meaning there is a slight prescription involved. I wear strong contacts and glasses so unfortunately, I cant wear these myself. However, my girlfriend loves them! They also come with a great case to keep them protected. Great buy! Read more
