I am trying to make healthy changes to our diet which includes removing all seed oils. With that in mind, I have eliminated all bottled salad dressings, leading me on a search for healthy alternatives. I have found a little touch of honey added to Extra Virgin Olive Oil, along with various vinegars, lime juice, spices etc. makes a wonderful homemade salad or coleslaw dressing. The extra kick of red peppers is great for Mexican inspired dishes. I would like it even more if it were a bit hotter. I gave it a 4 star because of the price. Read more
Although I prefer Mike's Extra Hot honey, this hot honey is the original, and it provides a mild heat along with the sweetness of honey. I like to use it as a side on a charcuterie board and to drizzle it on my homemade prosciutto pizza when serving people who can't handle the extra spice. The sweetness of the honey goes well with saltiness, and the hot pepper component adds complexity. I am new to hot honey but I really do enjoy it. This is the best tasting hot honey that I have tried. I went to a honey tasting event last year and this beat all the others that I tasted. The honey has it’s usually sweet smell with that kick of pepper following. The bottle doesn’t last very long in our house so I don’t know about longevity or shelf life. My bottles came sealed and well packed. The squeeze bottle was perfect for dispensing and the thickness of this hot hot was like that of regular honey.
