Packaging : The set came in a nondescript box containing several bags of parts and instructions. Instructions : The instructions were well enough printed, but contain several glaring errors of build order, including placing elements above areas where other elements will need to be placed later ; it is painfully obvious that no one bothered to do a test run of building this set based on the instructions, or worse, that they said 'eh, whatever' and let it get made this way. Parts quality : The parts are decidedly 'middling' in terms of quality ; the finish is unpleasant to the touch, and the fit is 'usually okay', with some odd cases of fit being entirely too tight or just slightly too loose. Set design : I have to admit that despite the two previous segments of this review being kinda bad, the set design (once built) is decent, and captures a LAV's core external features pretty well, although the rear door design could have been much better. Overall thoughts : If you're pretty good with building, okay with instructions that will have you doing things twice because of a lack of proofing, and don't mind parts quality that's only 'largely okay' ... it's not bad. This was one of my best builds yet of these smaller-scale military units. As a veteran I enjoy these building block kits, they are much like modeling but more resilient to handling (or play for kids.) From time to time I like to pull them out of my display case to show them. The armored fighting vehicle pieces fit very well together and instructions were easy to follow. Building this just took a couple of hours with no issues or missing parts. The instruction book is easy to read and has nice colored photos. Overall, a descent set. I found the blocks to be of good quality and they snapped together easily and stayed together. In fact, I found them difficult to take apart, which was not an issue except when I made a mistake, which happened a few times. I found that the instructions could be difficult at times and some steps were out of sequence. As an example, one step would have you lay out pieces as if they were connected and then the next step would have you select more pieces to connect them. The steps could have been organized to make them easier and more efficient. In the end the model look great and it stays together. Read more
This set looks cool once put together. But the instructions are tough to follow and not for younger or inexperienced builders. It's an off brand set so we're used to instructions not being up to Lego quality. Once together, the set is really cool looking, but you have to be able to get it built first. The pieces are not high quality, even in comparison to other off brands we have, and well below Lego standards. Again, it's cool looking once put together, but it's not one we could really "play" with after the fact. It'll stay on the shelf. Read more

Its a great set but what are they thinking charging $55 for this? This set AT MOST is $40 and it doesn't even come with figures. It has a old retro computer piece to act as the targeting screen inside the LAV. There isn't even any detail inside the LAV. There is just a gray floor, a lever, and that retro monitor piece. The build took me an hour and it was pretty easy to build. The instructions are easy to follow and the pieces are decent quality. But, like mentioned before, this isn't a $55 set, not even close. Its disappointing that light armored vehicle building block set market isn't bigger. Because you get products like this. Overall a great set but not worth the price. Read more
