This new model heat gun is comfortable to use, though it is much different than the old Milwaukee model. If you are used to the old one, this gun will take some getting used to! When I first started using it, I did not like it, but; with time (about a week) I found that it is a very good gun! It has two different temperature settings, and a more "pinpoint" nozzle for getting into those difficult trim locations that the older model just can't reach. It is also much better for heating and bending electrical non-metallic tubing, and it doesn't leave those scorch marks behind. I enjoy using it, and it will do things that the other one does not do, however; for larger areas of paint removal, I am still going to get a new heating element for my old Milwaukee model. I'm too attached to the old ways of working. R. Read more

I got this for some paint stripping projects that had been piling up around the house. This was great, heats up quickly has two setting and didn't cause me any issues on my 15amp circuits. The handle stays cool and the nozzle cools down quickly after you turn it off. The cord is of fair length, but I can't imagine a situation where you won't need an extension cord. This model DOES NOT come with the case or nozzle attachments as described in product description on the Amazon page, that's an Amazon issue at the Milwaukee web page makes that perfectly clear. Used this commercially tinting windows for years. It will last a long time if you don't drop it on the floor after using it . Great tool with good quality. Worth the price if you take care of it. It should outlast the cheaper ones by at least three to one. Read more

I got two of these to use on an old house. we are working to restore the home to its 1890 glory and beauty but there are some layers of paint on the trim and base boards in the home that need to be stripped. The heat Guns work amazingly well and get so hot so fast that the scraping of the paint goes pretty quickly. I would recommend this product to anyone who is interested in using heat to remove old paint. excellent product from Milwaukee tools! Read more

I use this to roast green coffee beans, somewhat in the manner described in Internet articles. I use a large stock pot, which came with a pasta strainer and a perforated metal steamer basket. The basket easily holds three cups of beans. The heat gun is set to high, and produces city+ roasts in 10-20 minutes, depending on the outside temperature, which can get a little cold in Wyoming (don't do this inside ... it gets mighty smoky). I've been using this setup since 2009, the year I purchased my first (Milwaukee) heat gun. Prior to that, I used the heat gun with an old bread machine, set to the dough program. It burned out shortly after I started using it as a holding-pot/stirrer for coffee roasting. I'm quite happy with my purchases. The gun is still going strong, after 4 years of roasting, at about 2-week intervals. Last month, I bought another Milwaukee heat gun (along with the accessory kit), to have as a spare, just in case this one burns out during painting of my house and garage. Read more

Got this in the mail about a day earlier than expected. Nicely packaged heat gun. Heat gun works well and I really like the little flip stand on the handle. The dual control temperature is easily controlled by the rocker switch on the handle. Cord was a little longer than the one on my older craftsman heat gun and this is good. I'm pleased also with the price. Read more

I guess it wasn't powerful enough to remove paint from my deck. Also, the cord is REALLY short and the "stand" doesn't do anything - the gun falls over anyway. I returned mine. Read more
