Perfect for 3D printing filament, you can find many designs to incorporate these into the spools online. The temperature and humidity readings look consistent across multiple devices, so the accuracy should be OK. The description says "temperature working range 0-50 °C, temperature reading range 0-70 °C" so it's probably not a good idea to put these under the high temperature required for drying filaments for a long period of time. There's no power switch. They came in already turned on, since there's also no plastic strip to disconnect the battery already installed like many other electronic devices. So I don't know how much the batteries have already been drained. They came with extra batteries though (one extra for each unit) which is nice. Read more

The first thing that impressed me is that the package came with two extra batteries. This wasn't required... but does indicate manufacturer / seller concern for customer satisfaction. Of course that could be because the units came fully operational and they wanted to make sure the customer had live batteries (that could have been solved with a piece of pull-plastic). But I'm calling "satisfied" here. First thing I did was check accuracy. I set these side by side to see if they agreed. They did, perfectly. (This is a very good way to test thermometers-- which often fail this test.) But these passed both on temperature and humidity. So thus far, I'm quite pleased. These aren't large, but the numbers are easy enough to read that I don't need my reading glasses. They come with double-stick pads. Five stars. Read more
