Great for travel and everyday use

I've used this curling iron for a week and am pleased with it - it's a great value. . The options for varied temperature settings are very good - 310 degrees works just right for my fine hair. It heats up quickly. I was unsure whether the small stand would keep the hot shaft away from the surface it's lying on - it is sufficient. My previous full-size curling iron had a retractable stand that worked better but it would have made this little curling iron larger so I'm OK with the small stand. I've already used it for travel - it's much lighter and smaller than my full-sized one. I don't have to agonize over whether it will fit in the suitcase. The little velcro ribbon secures the base and the folded up cord to keep everything neat. I'm super happy that it can be used on European electricity, too, though I haven't tried that yet. Now for the couple of downsides. The main one is that at first I had trouble keeping my hair in the curling clamp; it was frustrating. However, I tried using styling mousse on my wet hair and after blow drying, my hair stayed in much better. My hair is very fine so this may not be a problem for others and with the mousse it's OK. The other reason for 4 stars versus 5 is that the rotator for the cord is stiff so that I'm having to manually move the cord around the base from time to time, but that's a fairly minor complaint. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this vendor again. I bought this for a trip to isreal. I tried it out at home 1st and it worked great. When I plugged it in at the hotel it fried itself. Read more
