THANK YOU MINTIES!! Let’s start off by giving the ol’ disclaimer. Nothing -absolutely NOTHING- will work as well as just brushing your dog’s teeth. If you start slow and train them correctly it takes 30 seconds to give your dog’s teeth a good scrub. That being said, it doesn’t work for everyone. I get it. I have 1 highly aggressive elderly dog that can no longer handle me messing with her mouth, a “drools be out his toothpaste in two seconds flat” Labradumb, and my perfect little angel boy who has horns hidden in his halo. I bought these for the “angel”. A two year old Cattle Dog with the breath of an ancient beast spoken only in legends long past. This dog had noxious fumes blasting forth to waylay our enemies long before they knew they were our enemies. Now this is my one dog I can brush his teeth with ease. We brush, and use a dental supplement and when I say his teeth are pearly white I am not kidding. But his breath was horrible. We went to the vet and his vet diagnosed him with “keto breath”. This creature of myth and legend eats so many wandering knights (high protein feed) just to keep weight on that it was affecting his breath. So along with a diet adjustment I started searching for a breath mint. Anything to let me comfortably go back to dwelling in our lair together. Minties does the job! They’re perfect little breath mints to give just before play time. I bought the small ones as a quick breath mint and the chews to add into our nightly dental routine. Thanks to the ingredient list my “allergic to air” Old Lady can even join in the routine again. So while I wouldn’t consider the Minties a complete canine dental routine I do think they’re a wonderful and affordable addition. They certainly work better than some other name brands I’ve tried. My dog loves these! We used to use greenies but they smelled horrible and we use these treats to help with my dog's bad breath. These smell like fresh mint and are nice and hard to help remove plaque. Read more
My 3 year old Malshi loves these! They're the perfect size for her and she loves the taste. They do occasionally get really hard if the bag isn't sealed properly, but I just break it into smaller pieces for her and she's good to go! There are a ton in the bag so one bag lasts several months! Read more
Been getting these for my dog with subscribe and save for a few years now. They’re her favorite, cheaper than greenies, and a good treat to distract her from over-excitedly pawing us when we get home from work since it gives her an expectation of something else to do that she really likes. When we get home she goes and sits right by the cupboard these are in with her tail thumping the floor adorably. I wouldn’t say these necessarily improve her dental health (brush their teeth and/or use an enzymatic dog toothpaste for that) but they smell good and fresh. Just keep the bag zipped shut so they don’t get hard — my husband always forgets so the second half of a bag is harder than the first. Dog doesn’t mind whatsoever though. Read more
As soon as my dog is finished eating her regular meal (twice a day), she will look at me and start barking. She doesn't want more food, she wants a Minty! Because I am cheap and want her Minty experience to last longer, I ask her to twirl around and then I break the Minty in half and give her half. It's fairly dense, so it takes a short while to chew, then bark again. 2nd time , I just give her the other half. That's our morning ritual. Her teeth are white and so far, no bad breath. She's 4 1/2 yrs. old. They have a rather strong mint smell to them, and initially, I thought she would never like them, but she let's me know most definitely if I forget to hand her a half on schedule. Absolutely love how these treats have a natural mint flavor that my dog seems to enjoy. The soft and chewy texture makes them easy for all dogs to chew, and I appreciate that they are low calorie. Since I've started giving these, I've noticed my dog's breath is fresher and his teeth look cleaner. The 100-count package is convenient and lasts a good while. My dog loves these. They are a great price for the amount you get in the bag. They seem to help my dogs breath and he loves to eat them. He thinks they are a treat. They ddo not last him a long time, but they do the job. They are not rough on his teeth, but they are not too soft either. I would recommend. Read more
