This curling iron works very well. I get a very good spiral curl on my shoulder length very fine damaged hair. The biggest things I wanted in my new curling iron is auto spin and auto shut-off. This has both. The auto spin will go either direction. I'm not sure how long it takes for the curling iron to shut off, but I left it on so I could make sure it would turn off on its own. First- this curling iron heats up really fast and curls really well. What didn't work for me is the short clamp. My hair slips out of it too easily and I find myself just hold my hair in place with my hands, which is not ideal. I'm tossing this one and finding one with a full-length clamp. Read more
