My old luggage was really old. Like 30+ years OLD! So, when we decided to take a trip, I decided to check out some of the new and improved luggage options. I decided on the Mixi brand based on a review I saw for a smaller carryon version. The spinner wheels are a game changer when compared to the old inline wheels I was used to. The maneuverability is amazing. The wheels are so smooth. I also like the telescopic handle that extends across the entire back of the suitcase. It makes the bottom of the suitcase flat which makes packing so much easier. No trying to fit items around and between the metal handle rods. The wide handle won't accommodate a lot of the slip on straps on other pieces of luggage but if you have a longer crossbody type strap, it will accommodate those easily. I was able to sit my personal item on the suitcase and wrap the strap around the handle. The zippers seem to be a very good quality and operate very smoothly. The built in TSA approved locks are very easy to use. It's very simple to change the default lock code to your own set of numbers. The material the suitcase is made of is sturdy but flexible and lightweight. There is an aluminum band around the middle of the suitcase which provides additional support. This bag holds a lot of stuff. I especially like the fact that it's not a clamshell suitcase. It's like packing a box and simply zipping the lid closed. It held enough clothes, etc. for a 4 day trip. There was even enough room to put a few extra things in for the return trip home. I absolutely love this suitcase! So much so that I purchased the smaller 20 inch to use as my carry on for future trips. I thought the price was reasonable compared to other similar suitcases. Very pleased with this purchase. This is such a good carry-on. It rolls so easily through the airport, and the front opening and wide trolley handle are so convenient for packing and grabbing things you need in-flight. Sadly, I only used mine once before I had to trash it…I was flying with my cat, who I took to a family bathroom so she could use the travel litter box I’d gotten her. Her bladder apparently could not wait for such formality and she jumped into my open suitcase and released 8 hours of angry-cat tinkle. Next time I need a spinner of this size, I’ll re-purchase. The top opening design makes the bag feel very sturdy and easy to handle. The front pocket is extremely convenient for traveling with multiple devices, and everything stays well organized and accessible. The color is beautiful in person, and the extra wide handle makes the bag roll smoothly and comfortably. Stylish, practical, and well designed for carry on travel. I really wanted to love this item, but the laptop compartment just isn't as functional as it looks. I can't put a laptop and a tablet inside together because it bulges and won't zip. When I pack my laptop by itself in the compartment and pack the rest of the suitcase normally, the compartment bulges and the stitches of the zipper become strained to the point of fraying. It just doesn't extend outward as expected. It's a wonderful idea with a poor design. Read more
