I wanted a sign with the Gilmore symbol as well as the General Petroleum and the Mobil gas signs as well. My father used to work for all of those companies as an accountant. He first worked for Gilmore, which became acquired by, I think, General Petroleum. So then he became an employee of General Petroleum as a result of the acquisition. Then General Petroleum was merged with Mobil Oil, which caused our family to have to move to the disgusting city of Los Angeles. He retired from that hell hole to move back to Oregon again. Eventually, Exxon and Mobil merged years later after he passed away. It would have amazed him if he had lived to see that day. So that became my family's history. So I bought all of those signs to hang in my wood shop, also here in Oregon, where I came back to after high school to go to college and post graduate studies. I won't reveal my occupation that I earned. But it was a professional degree. I am now retired. Read more
